My “Road to Happiness” with the Paper Players

Road to Happiness

Cut Above BadgeYay!  My card won the “Cut Above” award!

Hello!

The Road to Happiness stamp set is great for the  challenge on The Paper Players this week to make a CAS masculine card.  I enjoy making masculine cards so there was no question about playing along. The card started with distressing Early Espresso and Cajun Craze cardstock for a more rugged look. Then it was time to create the cute car.  Isn’t that little convertible adorable?  I heat embossed it with Cajun Craze ink and clear embossing powder (to make it all nice and shiny like a car should look!), then it was fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals.  Lovely as a Tree is one of the oldest stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! catalog and the reason for that is simple – it is the perfect background for scenic cards.  I again embossed the trees with Crumb Cake and clear embossing powder so that watercoloring the grass and the sky would be easier.  Gorgeous Grunge made the road under the car and I totally had to use “Yippee Skippee” for the sentiment because that is exactly what I would be feeling riding in that car!

I just have to show you the inside of my card.  The inside sentiment just continues the feeling that the card front was portraying:

Road to Happiness Inside

It’s All in the Details

  • Stamp Sets: Road to Happiness, Gorgeous Grunge, Yippee Skippee, Wonderlust Photopolymer, Lovely As A Tree
  • Paper: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Watercolor cardstocks
  • Ink: Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, VersaMark
  • Cool Tools: Chalk Talk Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Stampin’ Distress Tool
  • Finishing Touch: Clear Embossing Powder

Do you have a guy in your life that would just LOVE that little convertible?  My teenage daughter loves it, too!  I actually got this stamp set initially for scrapbooking but it’s too cute to not use it for cards as well.  I hope you like it and, if you do, would you please leave me a comment?

Have you heard about the 25 STAMP SET SALE for 25% off?  Follow the link for the list and then go to my Shop Now button to stock up during this limited time offer!  Sale ends on October 28th so hurry!!  Did you know that if you spend $250, you will get an ADDITIONAL $25 in Hostess Benefits??  I am sure you want to take advantage of this incredible opportunity.

What do you have in your life that makes you feel “too much happy?”  I would have to say that it is my family, and that would have to extend to my Stampin’ Up! family!  Being a Pal has been so much fun and brought me such joy.  I have done many crafts but this one has brought the joy of connecting with other crafters that I never had with any other hobby.  It is for that reason alone I would like to make sure that you know that today is the last day to join Stampin’ Up! for the unbelievably low price of only $25!  I really would love to bring you into the Pals group so you can experience the positive, fun, and creative atmosphere that will make you take wherever you are higher than ever. Please take advantage of this day!  If not with me, then with someone you feel comfortable to take you there, but  I am ready to help!

Keep calm and craft on!

Debbie
