Have you ever needed a card quickly and didn’t have one that you could just pick up and send right away? I have a variety of reasons for needing cards for that purpose – everything from friends who are ill or suffered a death in their family to thanking customers for their orders and everything in between. Recently, I decided that I would dust off MDS and make some cards that would be suitable for that purpose. I then decided that I would make them into postcards so that they could be mounted onto a card base. When you make a postcard in MDS, you have two sides of the 3.5″ x 5″ cardstock, so with my postcards I have the same image on both sides and have a sentiment on one side and none on the other. That way I can choose the card I want and am not dependent on picking a card for the sentiment. I can just add the sentiment I want. Here is the card I made:
I took the postcard and mounted it to Baja Breeze (which I miss so much but can use in MDS). That’s it! This card is ready to go. For the next card, I changed the stamp in MDS to make it a little more masculine. For the flip side, I removed the sentiment. I then stamped another sentiment, punched it out and popped it up with dimensionals, making what is referred to as a “hybrid card”, incorporating both digital and traditional stamping.
Here are the other cards that I made for the same purpose. I have a card for whatever occasion I need.
So, you now know that I am not an expert on MDS, but have really enjoyed incorporating it for little projects in my scrapbooking. Now I can say that I have made cards with it as well! MDS is very user friendly and I had these printed through MDS printing service. I am very happy with the quick delivery and the quality is great! I will continue to work on MDS and am now looking into the downloads, which make the program even more fun.
Do you have MDS yet? There are so many things that I can get better at doing, but it really is not difficult to learn. Plus, did you know that anything you use or buy for MDS never retires? They are always introducing new products that keep up with their annual and mini catalogs, too!
I hope you enjoyed my cards today! If you did, would you take a moment and leave me a comment? I hope you will dust off your MDS soon! If you don’t have it, what are you waiting for? Scrapbooking cannot be any easier with it and we all have photos that are sitting on our computers that we never looked at. Get them into one of the super cute designer templates or, if you are ready, custom make your own!
If you have any questions, just let me know. I will be happy to help you or get the answer for you. My mission is to making crafting fun and easy for you, because busy people love handmade cards, too!
Keep calm and craft on!
