My teenage daughter is always looking through my cards to find a birthday card for her friends and floral isn’t always the way to go for a teenager (shocking, isn’t it?)! I love layers and texture and so do teens. The Mojo Monday challenge this week was just the thing to make a card for my daughter to give at her next birthday celebration. I now have a confession to make. I am living out of two different craft rooms for the next few months and no matter what I want (unless I happen to have two) it’s in the other craft room. So I am “making do” with what is in this craft room this week. I have always said that I joined Stampin’ Up! so I could “have it all.” (Can you relate?) Now I think it will be to have TWO of everything! LOL
On to the card! This card started out with Polka Dot Parade, a DSP that I have never used but always loved. It can be used for so many projects! The colors are beautiful, bright and can only be happy! Then I found another colorful DSP in I Am Me and just had to use it. Washi tape was used on the Basic Gray square for a little grunge to counteract the bright colors (still thinking teenagers, remember!). I used a really cute stamp from Delicate Doilies to be the background of the Blue Ribbon sentiment stamp, then used the Oh, Goodie! stamp on the banner. Texture was added using the Stripes embossing folder and the Stampin’ Distress Tool added some grunginess to the white cardstock. A button (retired due to all of my fun embellishments left in the other craft room but let’s pretend it’s current!) with ribbon and some candy dots for fun. All of the layers are popped up as well.

Great bold colors for this sketch! I love how you intermixed them along with the various patterns. Well done, Debbie!
That is a neat card. Your craft rooms sound like me. I can’t find half my stuff in either one.
How did I miss this one? I love the texture you’ve created!
