A Mini-Album Made Out of WHAT?

Mini-Album, Starburst Sayings, Feel Goods

You should have seen my face when I read the Creative Crew challenge! I need to make a mini-album out of WHAT? You have got to be kidding me? TOILET PAPER ROLLS? How in the world can you make a TP roll look, well, nice?? Of course, I am sure that they thought this shouldn’t be a problem for us. How could they possibly know that my family doesn’t USE toilet paper? We made the switch to flushable wipes several years ago, so my wonderful sister AND upline, Katy McGloin, came to the rescue when my daughter was just too embarrassed to ask her friends for a few. As I always say – that’s what PALS are for!

Here is the challenge: Scrapbook and More Focus: Mini Books – Back in 2009 we CASEd Julie Griffith’s idea of a toilet tissue tube book and presented it under 3-D challenges, 3D094. See instructions and pictorials on this cute little mini book. Try your hand at this project and enjoy the process.

The first thing I did was to run the TP rolls through the Big Shot to get them to lay down flat. I cut and glued paper to each roll from the Retro Fresh DSP from the Spring Catalog and lined the opening with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar Stretch Trim. Each page has different quote and the tab that fits into the roll is made with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and ready for photos and journaling. To bind it together, I went to the local office supply store and asked them to punch holes in them, which they did for very little expense and the holes were the perfect size for ribbons, making for a very festive binding.

  1. I love your album! I save the rolls just for this kind of thing. I have a bag with some in it. I really like the colors and designs you used on yours.

  2. The album is too cute! Stampers have to be the most creative people in the world. Years ago my husband said, “Just, please, not the walls!”

  3. Oh, Debbie…this is absolutely adorable and I would NEVER have guessed you used TP rolls! Great job…so creative.
