Vintage Flower Shop

Flower Shop, Secret Garden, Petite Petals

It’s a beautiful day in Michigan and on top of that, Mother’s Day is in full swing. My family doesn’t make a big occasion out of any holiday but Mother’s Day does not go unnoticed and for that I am grateful! Today will be breakfast in bed and then an early and abundant buffet lunch. After that, I plan on letting the family know how much I love them and then tip-toe into my craft room before they think of something for me to do for them!

My card today is from the May Creative Crew challenge: Catalog Focus: scoring tools: Use all or one of these scoring tools–Simply Scored Tool, Simply Scored Borders Plate and/or Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to add interest to a gatefold card.

I wasn’t sure what I would do with this challenge but the score lines made me think vintage and Ann Schach does it best, doesn’t she? So, I started out scoring my background cardstock at 1″ intervals, then distressing them with the distress tool and Crumb Cake ink. Flowers and leaves were punched and glued down, then pearls were added to the flowers and background for that special vintage look. I may have done the gatefold detail to the wrong challenge (yep! remember last Sunday’s card??) but I think this card looks quite alright!

It’s All in the Details
