Umbre Card #2

Flower Frenzy Bigz L, Bloom with Hope

The Flower Frenzy Bigz L die has really been entertaining my creativity since I got it! When the Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew was challenged to make an umbre card, I made with this card, using Very Vanilla, So Saffron and Hello Honey, then realized after I finished the card that there was a sketch challenge component. But I really liked the card so I decided to use it for one of the other challenges instead! The challenge was for the “Holiday Focus: Your Choice! It can be birthday, Wedding, Anniversary or Christmas in July!” Have you checked out the Creative Crew challenges at all? They are for demonstrators only, so if you are, then check it out and play along! (And if you aren’t a demo yet, what are you waiting for??)

The card started by using texture! I love the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and it is a great choice for texture. I also embossed the banner with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. Bottom line: texture adds fast drama to your cards and especially to soft colors. There should be a punch of color so I used Lost Lagoon, which is going to be one of my favorite colors. I sure hope you have the new Satin Ribbons by now. They are out of this world and make beautiful bows!

  1. I love your card. I have that set too. I want to try a flower pot card with it.

  2. Beautiful card! Love the texture and the elegance of it!

  3. You’re really working that die to great advantage. And you’re being instrumental in convincing me that Hello Honey IS a lovely color–perfect touches of it here. The Fancy Fan background Embossing Folder just makes this card excellent.

  4. Love the variation of yellow colors with the pop of Lost Lagoon! A perfect challenge card!!
