Welcome to my first Guest Designer post for The Paper Players! I am elated to be playing along! So much pressure to work with these very talented stampers, I don’t mind tellin’ ya! And the first challenge? One of the hardest – use something recycled or repurposed.
My card, seen below, has two items that fit the criteria. One is the felt flower that was a leftover I just couldn’t toss out after dyeing it in Crisp Cantaloupe several months ago. The second is a piece of stamping rubber that was used to pop up the sentiment – a very handy idea when you suddenly realize that you just ran out of dimensionals! Believe me – it happens!
Challenge Rules:
- Create a NEW paper, or digital, project.
- Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
- Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
- Please link your card to no more than three challenges, TOTAL. Entries linked to more than 3 challenges, including ours, will be deleted without notification.
- Have fun!
I am sneak-peeking the very pretty new Stacked with Love DSP Stack. The patterns in this paper are perfect for Valentine cards but will be great for so much more as well! The “Love” stamp is from the Seasonally Scattered stamp set and is perfect for a dramatic CAS card. The “Celebrate” is a very useful stamp from the Holiday Invitation stamp set. Both of these stamp sets will be retiring so you should definitely order by tomorrow if you like them!
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
- Stamp Sets: Seasonally Scattered, Holiday Invitation
- Paper: Stacked with Love DSP Stack, Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Whisper White
- Ink: VersaMark, Memento Black
- SU Tools: Banners Framelits, Word Bubbles Framelits
- Finishing Touch: Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Blushing Bride 1/4″ Cotton ribbon, Blushing Bride Emboss Powder
Don’t forget that Monday, January 5th, is the last day of the spectacular Year-End Closeout Sale as well as the Holiday Catalog! I just went through both of them and have stocked up on lots of great stuff! The sale has both retired and current holiday items at deep discount prices! I’m glad you couldn’t throw the flower away! This card is gorgeous! The use of crisp cantaloupe really softens the black. The rhinestones are a perfect bit of bling!
And I love the new DSP!
Debbie…first, congratulations for being a guest designer for/with the Paper Players! You are a great asset.
Second, loving this card. ALL of it.
Happy New Year to you and yours. May 2015 bring you joy, peace, health and LOVE.
Spectacular card! I love the different textures and the crisp cantaloupe is gorgeous on the dark background. Beautiful, beautiful!
Welcome to the Paper Players Debbie – it’s so lovely to have you guesting with us! I love your card today – the Crisp Cantaloupe really balances out the black to make a pretty card and the felt flower is gorgeous – I couldn’t have thrown it away either! Great tip about the rubber too; that never occurred to me, but I will remember it for the next time I run out of dimensionals!
Run out of Stampin’ Dimensionals?? Perish the thought!! The very idea leaves me horrified! But you certainly came up with a creative alternative!! And the flower, too pretty to toss! It certainly balanced out the darker colors on your card and is just beautiful. Great idea to turn the word bubble upside down…very clever!!
Well done.
This is such a striking card, Debbie! The black and pink really stand out and that flower is just gorgeous. Way to go on the dimensionals alternative, too 🙂
That flower was a definite keeper! Absolutely beautiful card!
Beautiful, Debbie! I LOVE the felt flower, the paper, and the layout! It’s perfect! You did a great job with today’s challenge. Welcome to the team, Pal!

What a pretty card, Debbie! Love the colors and that beautiful felt flower. Run out of Dimensionals? I don’t think that will happen any time soon. I used my rewards points to get about 20 packages of them! So good to have you on the team!

Hello Debbie! First and foremost, WELCOME to the Paper Players! So excited to have you on the team as a Guest Designer! I’m looking forward to working with you. Love your card and what a fun tip about using the rubber “bits” in place of Dimensonals. What!!?? I’m totally using that tip, going forward. Thanks for the inspiration!
Debbie, I am so excited to be working with you at the PP! WELCOME!! Your card is beautiful! I love the felt flower and the use of rubber for a dimensional is genius! Thanks for the great idea! I do hope I never run out of dimensionals though! LOL! I love the color palette, too! XX
Hi Debbie, I am so glad to be working with you and love your work. This card is beautiful and the tip about the rubber bits is GENIUS! Love this classic color combination too. Great start to your GD stint!
Debbie, welcome to the team and what a great way to annouce your arrival! I love that flower – actually, I’m obsessed with it and can totally see why you couldn’t throw it away. Genius to use the stamping rubber as a replacement for dimensionals! 🙂 I love this color scheme, too.
