Choose Happiness is a wonderful stamp set! I tried to keep this clean and simple for the challenge. What do you think? I keep wanting to add embellishments to it! I just don’t have the eye for CAS cards at all. Can someone help me??
I have a confession to make. The card that I posted on Friday was originally made for this challenge but as I was about to post it to the Paper Players, the little acronym “CAS” glared at me. YIKES! That card is definitely not a CAS card so at midnight, just hours before I was scheduled to board a flight to San Diego, I made this card! So, I hope you will be gentle in your thoughts towards this card if you don’t like it. I am sure that all of you can relate to last minute card issues!
This card had to be fast and easy because I needed sleep! I grabbed my Painted Blooms DSP, some Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake cardstock. The Oval was already cut out and in my stash of paper so that saved me a lot of thinking and time! I stamped the leaves, and used my blender pen to dab Pear Pizzazz ink to them. The bird was inked with Soft Suede onto Crumb Cake then fussy cut and popped up with a dimensional. The banner was stamped in Crumb Cake and cut with the banner framelit along with the stamped image from Wetlands. A little bow just had to go at the top which was so easy to make and glue down to finish the card. DONE! I was literally in bed after taking and editing a photo by 1:00 AM – tired but ready for my trip at long last. I know that you would love to see what the other Paper Player designers did with their challenge then I hope you will really be inspired to find your bird stamps and play along!

A beautiful and elegant card, Debbie! I love the pretty shades of green. And don’t feel bad, I missed the CAS part of this challenge, too!
I’m impressed that you could create this so quickly! I would have been totally flummoxed on such short notice. 🙂 Love the leaf/vine print and the clever way you’ve used the woodgrain banner. Hope you’re having a great time in San Diego!
Love your feathered friend with the shades of green. That bow adds just the right touch, too. Perfect for a thank you card!
Beautiful, Debbie! I LOVE the leafy paper! There is something so relaxing about this card…I think it is all the gorgeous greens!
Great save on the CAS card, Debbie! This is so pretty – I love how the little bird is nestling in the branches.
I too love the mix of greens on this card – it does have a very calming effect Debbie, although this might have passed you by as you were hurriedly stamping at 1am. Your card looks great – had you not shared, we would have been none the wiser! I am getting into quite a CAS groove lately, yet when I came to do my card I couldn’t stop adding layers – I too went with my second attempt, and it is possibly still a little too layered to be simple, but hey! I love Friday’s card by the way – also gorgeous! Hope your trip goes well this week – thanks for such a great card for my bird challenge!
Lovely card….wonderful background and a nice rustic charm to the entire card! Love that little bird!
Debbie, I love your card. I missed the CAS part too – LOL – how on earth?! Jealous of you in San Diego, hope you are having a good time. Cx
Debbie, I had to laugh out loud while reading your post. I too completely MISSED the clean and simple aspect of the challenge!! Mine is actually a bit more fussy than I would normally do, so I had to look twice and thought…close enough!! lol You used lovely paper and your double bow is beautiful!!
Hi, Debbie! I love your card. It’s so Springy with the bird and leaves! Thanks for sharing!
