It’s been such a busy week after returning from Leadership to lots of snow drama. My daughter had Monday off – definitely not complaining about that after being gone, but that brings lots of shoveling, and that brings back and neck issues and a much needed trip to the chiropractor (my new best friend). So, yes, I really miss Orlando!! LOL
I had been playing the week before Leadership and ended up making some cute little gift boxes, which I filled with some yummy chocolates! I made enough for “roomie” gifts – my sisters, Katy and Denise, and Bobbi, a fellow Pal. I also made them for my uplines, Mary and Lisa. They are fun and easy to make so I thought I would share just a few of them with you so that you can duplicate them, just in time for Valentine’s or any occasion you want!! So, which one do you like??
I used the Happy Hearts TIEF to dry emboss the the window sheets. This was really easy to do because the folder is just long enough so that you can put it through the Big Shot in BOTH directions. No more trimming them if you want to put it through lenghwise. The flowers were made, spritzed with alcohol, sponged on the tips and made into flowers. I really love how they turned out.

I love the way the heart embossing looks on the plastic sleeve! The pink flower is my favorite. The third box, with the red flower and the red and white banner tag seem the most “Valentine-y” to me. You can’t beat “Real Red” when it comes to red for holidays, specifically Valentine’s Day, Fourth of July, and Christmas.

They were even more stunning in person. This was the best event simply because it was shared with my sisters!
Thank you for your kind comment! The flowers are quite easy to make! Once you decide on the shape of your flower (and I use all sorts of punches and framelits, such as a scallop punch, Festive Flurry framelit, Flower Frenzy Bigz die) you cut out multiple layers (I have done 5 for an open flower or 8 will make it a very full flower). You then wet it down with either water or rubbing alcohol (alcohol dries faster), scrunch it up into a wad and let it dry in that shape. Once dry, you unfold them, and punch a hole into the middle area, then start layering them. Before I do that step, however, I often add ink with a sponge on the edges and often to the entire flower to emphasize the scrunched areas. Just play with the layers till you are happy with the results.
I really love all three boxes, they are beautiful. Great idea. Do you ever make
videos of your work? I find it easier watching someone make the cards/boxes
rather than reading the instructions. Thank you so much for sharing and for
