Hello, Stampers! I hope you all enjoyed our challenge last week. Who doesn’t need ideas for a girly thank you card! I got so many great ideas from you all! We are starting a new Paper Players challenge this week, hosted by the incredibly talented Anne Marie, with a really fun and versatile sketch. You will be going back to this one again and again. Here is my card:
This card is such fun to make! I started by finding that pretty Blushing Bride DSP in All Bloom DSP stack. I coordinated it with Perfect Plum and Sahara Sand. Perfect Plum is a color that I so seldom use and I really don’t know why! I love it and need to find more ways to include it in more projects. Which color do you need to bring out to play more often?
I inked up Daydream Medallions (retiring in just a week!) with Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand, cut it out with the Floral Frames Framelits, popping up the layer and topping it with a beautiful Antique Brad, also seldom used but perfect for a vintage card. Then I used Gorgeous Grunge on the background DSP to add to the vintage look and then went to one of my favorite ribbons, Sahara Sand 7/8″ Lace Trim, which has been carried over to the new catalog! I am doing a happy dance for that! Love this ribbon and you will be seeing it a lot from me!!
Next I was a little stumped what to add for the three little elements, then it clicked to bring out the Artisan Embellishment Kit rosette trim. Sadly, this sold out quickly from the Occasions Catalog and is no longer available but you could definitely use other embellishments, like flowers or buttons, etc. Thinking that the card still needed a little sumthin’-sumthin’ I brought the butterfly from Butterfly Basics, inked it with Blushing Bride then cut it out with the coordinating framelit and also in Perfect Plum. I had a little glimmer paper sitting out on my table so I cut a 1/2″ circle and topped it with the absolutely adorable embellishment from the Artisan Embellishment Kit. Sure wish I could buy more of just those little roses – absolutely love them! Lastly, Petite Pairs had the perfect sentiment that I inked up with Sahara Sand, punched with the Oval Punch and layered with the Scallop Oval Punch in Sahara Sand. This card is now done!
I want to also enter this card in this week’s Seize the Birthday – Anything Goes challenge. If you are planning to make a birthday card, I am sure they would love you to play along as well.
I hope you’ll stop by and check out the rest of the Design Team inspiration over at The Paper Players. We would love for you to join us before the challenge closes on Friday, May 29th at Noon (PDT).

Debbie–This is such a lovely, serene, calming card that exudes elegance as well. I love the color scheme and how you used flowers to create dimension and energy to it. The vintage/antique brad was the perfect touch, too.
Beautiful color combo and design….lovely card. Thanks for joining us at Seize the Birthday!

Beautiful, beautiful card, Debbie! I love the vintage feel of it and the soft, pretty colors you used.
Love the vintage feel to your card Debbie – I so struggle to pull this off myself so am in awe of people like you who create such wonderful creations! I love the way you pulled the colours, patterns and textures together – gorgeous! Oh and the colour I almost never use? Always Artichoke – I’ve only used it twice EVER!!
Debbie, I just love the shabby chic elegance of your card! The soft colors, the layered images and those beautiful rosettes…absolutely stunning! Vintage is a style that I tend to struggle with and this is wonderful inspiration to get out that stamp set right away. Thank you for rocking my sketch this week! Hugs! 🙂
