Hello, Stampers! The CAS summer treat cards that you all submitted last week were all good enough to eat! I think I put on 10 lb just looking at them! If you haven’t checked them all out, I hope you will today. Summer is just starting so you have plenty of time and ideas to get you going. Today’s challenge is a sketch and hosted by the talented Nance this week. Before I go on to show my card, I just wanted to say how sad this day is for me, because it is my last week as a guest designer for the Paper Players. Being here has really stretched my creativity that I would never have had before. I love this wonderful team of designers, especially since they are all uniquely talented. I have benefited from each and every one. I hope they don’t mind if I continue to play along from time to time.
OK, ok, enough of that, let’s get on with my card!
- This is a classic A2 card. When I looked at the sketch, my first decision was what to use for the circle. There were many ways to go with that, of course, but I love Wondrous Wreath. I find it to be very versatile and definitely not just for holidays. My first instinct was to make it green, but it was just too bright and I wanted it to be more subtle so I went with Crumb Cake instead.
- Watercolor Wings is going to be the one stamp set (with coordinating dies) that you will want in your collection as soon as possible. If you order the bundle, you will save 15%! Staying with the color scheme, using So Saffron, Crushed Curry, and Crumb Cake, this butterfly went together so quickly because the stamps are photopolymer. I stamped the antennae and butterfly body with Soft Suede. You really can’t do it wrong when using this stamp set.
- The flower was so much fun to make with the Cherry on Top Cotton Paper. I punched three layers with the Fun Flower Punch, then scrunched and curled the petals with the bone folder. That paper is the BEST for flowers of all sorts!
I hope you’ll stop by and check out the rest of the Design Team inspiration over at The Paper Players. We would love for you to join us before the challenge closes on Friday, July 3rd at Noon (PDT).
