Mixing Flower Shop with the New Birthday Blossoms

rrcb19

Hello, Stampers! I have been taking some time off and have been itching to get back in my craft room! The time off was wonderful and revitalizing though and hope you will like my projects that I will be showing you.

Today is a new color inspiration challenge with Retro Rubber. Isn’t this photo beautiful? I want to be on that boat! LOL The challenge is to use the colors you see here and make a card, using your older stamps. We love reading about your stamp and why you picked it and how you acquired it in the first place, so please feel free to share with us!

Birthday Blossoms, Flower Shop, Sassy Salutations

I may have cheated just a little bit but not too much. The sentiment is from an old stamp set, Sassy Salutations, which I have loved but not used for a very long time. My daughter loves this stamp set! I also pulled out the Flower Shop stamp set and coordinating punch (gotta love that, right?) and inked it up with Rose Red, a color that is also overlooked. After inking up the flowers, I realized that I had just gotten the new stamp set, Birthday Blossoms, that would be perfect for this card. The flower and leaves were inked up and I fussy cut the leaves. Did you happen to notice the background? That is a new stencil that Stampin’ Up! came out with in the new catalog. I just daubered a little Pool Party over the stencil then cut it out with the Big Shot. Then the sentiment was punched with the Banner Triple Punch (an absolute “must have” on your list) and the last thing was to add just a few embellishments – Designer button with baker’s twine, Candy Dots and the new Metal Rimmed Pearls. I keep wanting to fill in that upper right corner with something but have resisted thus far. What do you think?? I also played with the inside of the card and thought you would enjoy seeing how pretty the new stamp set looks there as well.

  1. Hello Debbie: Oh, I also would love to be in that boat, on that beautiful beach, LOL!!
Your card is gorgeous, I have that lovely Flower Shop so I will be CASEing your gorgeous card, the detail of the button and metal rimmed pearls is just lovely.
I just love playing with the Retro Rubber challenge blog and all of my old, very old stamp sets are too.

  2. I hope you had a relaxing and re-energizing time off. That stencil does look like fun- what a great background and I love the stitched panels! Pacific Point is also a color I under use, too. And I love the inside!

  3. Such a pretty card, Debbie, and I am so glad you resisted adding anything more to the right top corner. This card is perfect the way it is. Sassy Salutations had to grow on me but it is a unique font that I wanted in my collection. You have made me glad that I finally located my purchased metal rimmed pearls, LOL. The inside is your cheat, right? Since it is on the inside, I don’t call it cheating. Off to pin… 🙂

  4. Debbie!! I ADORE this card! So beautifully done! See, once again, YOU show me how to put together a card that has so many wonderful elements that fit perfectly together! If I tried this – all the parts would be on the floor and I would be in my wine glass LOL! You are the ying to my CAS yang my friend! It is funny you mentioned rose red – I looked at it on Sunday and thought – should I use that? Wait – stitched panels – I had to go back and look, I missed them – so thank you Katy! I was too busy admiring that stencil! Love!

  5. OMG Debbie, this is gorgeous, you have inspired me. I just bought the flower shop set and punch…I need to get using it. The colours work so well on your card. I am loving your use of stitched dies, I am LOVING stitched dies right now. Sorry I have been such a stranger. I will be back to norm from this weekend. Cx
