Remembering Your Birthday with Summer Silhouettes

The holiday weekend is here so I thought I better get this card to you before you are off doing your holiday traditions! I hope you have lots of fun activities planned! My husband always seems to end up having to work on July 4th so we will be staying pretty quiet. Luckily we can always see the fireworks from our back deck so I get to see some without the traffic – win-win!

Summer Silhouettes, Remembering Your Birthday

I started this card, using Remembering your Birthday for the sentiment and Summer Silhouettes,
to go with another challenge but it just didn’t go well, but since I used the colors for the Pals Paper Arts challenge I am going to submit this to them only. I really love these fun summer colors together. Summer Silhouettes is one of those staple stamp sets that never disappoints!

  • Classic A2 card: I started building the card first, using a scrap of Whisper White that had already been embossed with the Spring Flowers TIEF. I just realized that it retired! Wow! I love this folder so it will be used, retired or not. I love it!
  • That gave me the dimensions for my focal panel, which was 4 5/8″ x 3 3/8″ for stamping area. I just stamped to my heart’s content with the leaves stamp, then followed with stamping 3 images each of the full and half flower, with the half flower being stamped off first before to give them a little color variation. They were fussy cut, then, using the bone folder, curled slightly. Flowers are not flat! I can’t bear to keep them flat when they can have some dimension.
  • I colored the Organza Ribbon with Night of Navy marker and let it dry. I then made a double bow with the Cucumber Crush. After adding them to the card layer, I then added the flowers and embellished with pearls.

  1. Happy, happy birthday Debbie. What a great idea to give away a present on YOUR birthday. So very generous. Your card is lovely, as usual. I love the way you placed the flowers, so creative. Thanks so much for a chance to win. I already picked out my stamp set so pick me! LOL

  2. Happy Birthday Debbie. I always love the idea of giving presents to others on my birthday. I have a friend who celebrates her birthday all week of her birthday and does RAK’s (Random Acts of Kindness) for her friends and unknown people. Like paying the person behind her order at a drive thru. Hope your Birthday celebration is great in every way, and we also get to watch the local fireworks from the front lawn, no fighting traffic to see them.

  3. Now if I had made that birthday card, it would have been with you already, LOL. It is absolutely gorgeous. I love the variation of color… so realistic. Happy Birthday, Debbie!! Hope you have a day filled with the love of family and friends and lots of treats to look forward to…. Now, off to pin….

  4. Debbie, I did the same thing with the embossing folder–completely missed that it is retired 🙁 I love how you colored your ribbon. Your blooms are popping all over! Lovely card.
