Hello, Stampers! I enjoyed the submissions for the last Retro Rubber challenge! We love to see what you create with your older and dearly loved stamps! You saved them so get them out and play with our next challenge, which is to include a number of your card. Easy, right? My card, using two current but older stamps (Zoo Babies and Celebrate Today) was so easy to make! You know how much I love to layer, but the best way to layer is with framelits and punches. This card used quite a few, so if you see something you don’t have, you really need to. It’s the tools that make the process fun and so much quicker!
This card started with choosing the colors from the Create with Connie and Mary challenge #366. I have been following them for so long and really felt it was time to play along! The colors are great in this challenge, don’t you think? They just reminded me of a kid’s card so that is how I chose Zoo Babies and what child isn’t going to love balloons on their birthday card?
Seize the Birthday is also having a fun challenge this go-around with embossing as their “topping” so I think I will enter my card over there as well. The more, the merrier, right?! Here is another photo that shows the embossing a little better. I had to turn off one of my lights to get some shadows.
The card is really self-explanatory, but I am always more than happy to answer any questions you have if you leave me a comment below. The only thing that you might not know is that I took a strand of the jute ribbon and soaked it into Perfect Plum ink for the the balloon tie.
I hope you’ll stop by and check out the rest of the Design Team inspiration over at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog. Please get your much loved older stamps out and play along! We would love for you to join us before the challenge closes on Friday, August 14th.
