Traveling the Open Sea

The Open Sea, Pursuit of HappinessHello, Stampers! Did you see all of the wonderful ombre cards from the last Retro Rubber Challenge? You all were great and submitted some really cool cards!! We do have a very fun challenge for you now and just know that you will enjoy playing along with your older but much loved stamps.

It’s All in the Details

  • This card started with some current (Pretty Petals) as well as retired DSP, High Tide. I am always happy to bring in some much loved older supplies!
  • I stamped the ship image with Memento Black ink and punched it with the 2 1/2″ punch then layered with the Lil’ Inker Stitched Circle framelit.
  • The sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness was stamped then the anchor from The Open Sea was stamped over it in Daffodil Delight. The Banner Triple punch was used to flag the ends. It was layered onto a Pacific Point banner.
  • Lastly, for just a little texture I used the White Corrugated paper and some Brights Candy Dots.

  1. Nicely crafted card, Debbie! I love the small bits of color which brighten the darker landscape (seascape?) of this card. Open Seas is one of my favorite sets and you really did it proud. TFS!

  2. I love this card. It is such a perfect male card. May I post a link to your card on my Manly Monday blog post? It’s a post where I showcase masculine cards for my readers. Email me link to your card so I can find it at grohcm at gmail dot com. I will send you an email when the post goes live. Thank you.

  3. Beautiful card, Debbie. Love your choice of DSP in the background and everything is well placed.

  4. Can you call a masculine card “lovely”? How about striking? it is all of that and so much more. Love the extra detail bits that you are so well known for… Nautical comes so easy to you… must be the family influences for gathering around water…
    Off to pin…

  5. Stunning card with just the right pop of color! Love how you stamped the anchor through the sentiment to tie it all together!

  6. Hey Debbie, I love your card, feels very calm and nautical. That backing paper is stunning. I told Katy that I love bikes, but I love boats too..and I also have TONS of boat stamps…LOL..I love to travel and travel icons / imagery as stamps are just an addiction for me. Cx

  7. Great card! Love how you found a way to use up some older supplies too! I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I do that!
