Delicate Ornaments are Warmth & Wonder(ful)

rrbc26

Hello, Stampers! I hope you all have seen the wonderful submissions we had for our spooky challenge! Such wonderful talented stampers! So, are you ready for another great challenge? Let’s see what you can do with this sketch! It’s a really fun one that will inspire you, no matter what the occasion! I thought it would be perfect to showcase the Delicate Ornaments dies from the Holiday Catalog with a great retired stamp set that I kept for a card like this one. What “oldie but goodie” stamp is waiting for you to show it some love today?

I can’t believe that we are looking at the end of October! The weather is still holding its own here and we are loving it! The air is crisp but the skies have been blue and beautiful! Ah, my favorite time of year!

Warmth & Wonder, Delicate Ornaments, Holiday, Christmas

It’s All in the Details

  • This card is a standard A2 card with the card base in Tempting Turquoise, then a layer of Red Foil paper and Whisper White embossed with Elegant Dots TIEF from the Holiday Catalog.
  • I cut the Delicate Ornament dies with Silver Glimmer paper and Red Foil paper. The Precision Base Plate was used for the Silver Glimmer paper and am so glad I had one! It definitely made it easier to cut through the Glimmer paper. Those two layers were glued together with the Fine Tip Glue (another really great tool from the Holiday Catalog) and popped up onto the layers with dimensionals after adding a small loop with Silver Cording Trim.
  • The sentiment from Warmth & Wonder was stamped in Real Red ink, then layered onto Tempting Turquoise after rounding two of the corners on both layers.
  • The Winter Wonderland embellishments were added as the final touch. This really is a fun but easy card to make with the great new tools!

  1. Yum! This is such a rich and deliciously elegant design. I really love your color choices, and one can never go wrong with silver glimmer…atop that red foil–perfection! The use of the silver cording for an ornament hook is genius!

  2. Debbie, what an elegant card and great use of the sketch! Love all the details of your design. Thanks for kind comments on my blog.

  3. Absolutely STUNNING! I love the red foil with the silver glimmer paper. And the Tempting Turquoise sets the ornament off to perfection. This will certainly be CASEd for a future holiday card. Be sure to send it to Mary!!

  4. Tempting turquoise? What? Talk about creativity – I would NEVER have put turquoise with real red and it is spectacular! This card is stunning – my eyeballs are quite happy to look and look and look! This card must be worth a million bucks it is so rich looking! PS – I tried the tangerine tango stripe and then some others and the only one that worked was the one I used. And yet – I still can’t believe that it works somehow!

  5. Stunning card Debbie! I love how you combined the glimmer and shine so perfectly! I am a fan of blue with red for holiday cards but often forget to combine them.

  6. This card is absolutely gorgeous! My friend was using that same die a few weeks back, but your design here is stunning. I love the foil paper!

  7. Hello Debbie: Your card is gorgeous, the shiny red foil and the silver glimmer paper are such an elegant combination, those snowflake decorations are so beautiful, a very elegant detail.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.
