Sky is the Limit for This Masculine Card

Sky is the Limit

Hello, Stampers! Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you (who wish to celebrate)! I have been so ill this week that my craft room has been very quiet. Then for the last two days I have been so busy that I couldn’t sneak down to play even for a minute. Boy, how I hate it when that happens! So, I finally found a quick minute to make a fun CAS card that anyone would like but the SAB stamp set, Sky is the Limit, is a wonderful one for the guys in our lives! I have had it  for a month and really needed to ink it up! This stamp set is only available till tomorrow, February 15th, when you place a qualifying order. If you don’t have it yet, NOW is the time.

It’s All in the Details

  • The card base is Lost Lagoon cardstock, cut in A2 dimensions
  • I decided to try the Sunburst Thinlits Die that is new in the Occasions Catalog. Anyone who had tried making a sunburst card without this die will definitely want one! So much easier!!! I cut the Calypso Coral and Whisper White with the Sunburst die and made the Calypso Coral one just 1/4″ shorter so that they didn’t exactly overlap.
  • The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive then punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Then Old Olive cardstock was punched with the 2 1/2″ Circle punch and layered together.
  • The airplane stamp was stamped in Basic Gray ink and then fussy cut.
  • The finishing touch was three clouds punched out using the Tree Builder Punch.

I made this card with the Pals Paper Arts color challenge in mind. What a great color combination! I really love what the design team put together.

  1. Debbie, masculine cards are hard to make for me, I’m always looking for inspiration and this card you made is just beautiful.
Maybe the problem I’m having is that I really don’t have to many masculine images to work with, I tend to get flower and little critter stamps and neglect to get something more in the line of what a guy likes to see.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful card and for the inspiration.
    Big Hugs,
    Maria.

  2. Sorry you’ve been sick! Glad you recovered sufficiently to make this guy card for us to CASE! It’s a winner! TFS!

  3. Debbie, I love the combination of the sunburst with the biplane… sweet! And thanks for the reminder of the clouds being available using the tree builder punch… I forget about that and made handmade ones aren’t generally recognizable, LOL. Also love the overlapping of the sunbursts… it really pops against the blue sky. Thanks so much for including my color challenge at the PPA in your limited stamping fun this week… so glad you are starting to feel better so that you can craft away (our version of “Calgon, take me away”, LOL)

  4. You’re so creative. I use the cupcake builder punch for clouds but the tree builder is so much better. Thanks for the inspiration .

  5. Debbie, so sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Get well quick my friend. Beautiful masculine card. I especially love the way you’ve used the colors in the challenge! Thank you for taking the time to share your talent with us this week at PPA!

  6. Another great card, Debbie. Love the way you have used these colors in an unconventional way and the clouds from the Tree Builder Punch is a brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing with Pals Paper Arts.

  7. You created some really beautiful layers with this die, Debbie! This is such a great card! Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.

  8. I hope you get better soon, being sick isnnever fun. I will say though…super fun card! I love how your layers of the starburst are just smaller than each other so it reads differently. Plus that airplane…. perfect! Thank you for joining us this week at the Pals Paper Arts Challenge!
