Stampin’ Up! Balloon Celebration and Indescribable Gift

Indescribable Gift, Balloon Celebration, Touches of Texture, Stampin Up

Hello, my Stampin’ friends! It’s time for a sketch challenge at Retro Rubber to play with your older, much loved stamps. I had so much fun making this card for you today! I had bought Indescribable Gift from the SU 2015 occasions catalog because it reminded me of my favorite flowering trees, Dogwoods, from 20 years of living in Atlanta. Yeah, I know this stamp doesn’t look like a dogwood but that is where my mind went when I saw it so I got it. Of course, I got it! The problem wasn’t buying it – the problem was having it and never even using it! I think coloring it was intimidating to me but no more! I colored this image with my brand new (and growing) collection of Copics markers. Thanks, Katy (I think)! I am still learning obviously and still need to collect more but they are so nice! I really do love them!! The other stamp sets used were Balloon Celebration from the 2016 occasions catalog for the sentiments and Touches of Texture that just came out in the 2016 annual catalog for the shabby chic texture. It’s so much fun to incorporate the old with the new!

I am submitting this card to Seize the Birthday also. They have an Anything Goes challenge at the moment. You should see the beautiful cards from the design team and play along with me!

  1. Very Nice, you did a great job with the Copic’s (I don’t own any of these, your
flowers are very pretty). I always liked this stamp too, but I never bought it.

  2. Lovely colored image – great use of the sketch too- Thanks for joining in at STB~

  3. Hello Debbie: I love this image, whether is Dogwood or Cherry tree, it’s gorgeous.
Copics have always intimidated me, I gave them a try last year, I bought a few but they just didn’t work for me at all.
You, on the other hand, did a gorgeous job coloring this pretty flowers, you have a talent and I know as time goes by, you will feel more comfortable using them.
I love all the texture on your card, the burlap ribbon and the beautiful bow, are the most lovely finishing touches.
    Big Hugs,

  4. Love this layout and design! You did a fabulous job! Thanks for joining the Girls and I over at Seize the Birthday!

  5. Oh Debbie, I love your take on the sketch. That stamp is absolutely stunning!! Just like Maria, I love all the texture on your card, especially that big burlap wrap. Cx

  6. I think your Copic coloring is fantastic and especially for a first try! Glad you are enjoying them. My fave detail on this card is the continuation of the stamp underneath the focal panel… such a sweet detail. Off to pin…. 🙂

  7. Debbie, love the color of your flowers and the layout of your card!!!

  8. *Love* your card, Debbie! All the details in your design come together to create a stunning work of art. And your coloring is *so* pretty!!!

  9. Beautiful card Debbie, love your colouring on the flower.

  10. As usual you hit this one out of the park! Love the way you stamped in the focal image and popped it up over the same image. The twine and button, so cute! The touch of burlap texture and splattered corner, oh my! This will go in my Copy and Share Everything file!

  11. I am sooo glad you brought out this stamp set and used it! Your coloring is gorgeous! This color scheme is so inspiring! Loooooove that burlap ribbon!!❤️❤️
