I had a problem last week. I didn’t have an all occasion card that I really needed. This card was put together pretty quickly, even though my craft room was in total disarray after being gone for nearly a week. I really enjoyed my trip, had a wonderful time visiting with my family, attending OnStage and World Card Making Day, but travel (and changing the clocks!) just takes it out of me. I got home and just had no energy to do anything at all. However, when you want to let someone you love know that you are thinking of them, a card is an absolute MUST, right?
So, here is the card I made. I found the sentiment first from Thoughtful Branches. Fruit Stand DSP was cut and layered on top of Watermelon Wonder cardstock and then adhered onto Dapper Denim card base. After stamping the sentiment, I used my brand new stitched framelits to cut it out.
I really love that little bird from Birds & Blooms. Many of the cards I have seen using that bundle have used the big birds and they are wonderful! But I thought the little one would look really sweet at the bottom of the stitched oval. Then I set out to find something else and found the leaves from May Flowers, and a small flower from Rose Garden Thinlits. To anchor it all down, Watermelon Wonder Ribbon with the 5/8″ burlap ribbon were perfect. The finishing touch was linen thread and pearls. I sponged the edges of the elements with Crumb Cake and then laid it all down with Fast Fuse and/or dimensionals. Whatcha think??
