It’s the last birthday of the year in my family! It’s not always fun being a December birthday, so I wanted to make a card bright and festive for my son’s new wife, Farah. She’s a joy to have in our family so not “just any card” will do! Birthday Fiesta has been sitting around my stamp set collection collecting dust since I bought it. When I recently reorganized my framelits and thinlits stash, I realized it would be a really good choice for her special day.
This card came together in no time at all, which was really what I needed right now. Not only have we been busy but my daughter beat me into my craft room yesterday so between the two of us it is a disaster area! The part of this card that you might not notice right away is that I cut the scalloped oval into the DSP and a wider oval into the Crushed Curry cardstock that is underneath it. This exposed the Emerald Envy card base and gave the card front some more dimension. The stamp set and framelit bundle really helped put this card together in a flash!
The inside of the card is just as festive as the front! I used a stamp set that was brand new for me – Better Together. I love that Happy Birthday font! It really looks festive, don’t you think? Then I fussy cut the pinata and maracas and added a strip of DSP at the bottom.
I would like to submit this card to SUO Challenges for their super fun Circles or Ovals or Squares, Oh My! challenge.
