The Sisterhood of Crafters Anything Goes Challenge
Oh, the fun of an Anything Goes challenge!! It can be daunting to know that you can make anything. There was a Facebook post recently that asked what crafting product do you have that you never use. My response was “I buy stencils for no apparent reason.” LOL Well, that realization made me decide to change that, so that is how I started this card. It then “morphed” into a Halloween card using a new stamp set in the upcoming Holiday Catalog called Spooky Cat. If you know me at all, you will know that my love for cats borders on obsession, so I couldn’t wait to use it. The stamp set has the coordinating Cat Punch and it is going to be one of the most popular items in the catalog. If you want it, you better get it early!
It’s All in the Details
- Big cards seem to be my “norm” lately. I just really enjoy the larger size to get all of the details onto the front of the card. The Basic Black card base measures 6″ x 12″ and scored at 6″. The Old Olive layer measures 5 3/4″ square.
- The Whisper White cardstock (5 5/8″ square) was taped underneath the new brick stencil from the Pattern Party Decorative Mask pack. I sponged Memento Black ink over the entire surface, then moved it just slightly and sponged it again with Old Olive ink.
- The larger size of the card base allowed me to use the sentiment from Happy Celebrations, then cut it with the Banner Triple Punch. I found a great Halloween sentiment from a Paper Pumpkin stamp set, which are exclusive stamps! (Did you know that Paper Pumpkin is on sale right now??) I stamped it in black then cropped it with the banner in Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits and popped it up with dimensionals.
- The cat stamp, punched out with the new punch, is my favorite element on this card, but all of the cute images are so much fun for a Halloween card, don’t ya think?

What a fabulous creation Debbie! I too have neglected stencils … might just have to blow the dust off of them and get busy creating something! Thanks for inspiration!
Wow you created an amazing Halloween card! Love all the different details on it and the inside sentiment is too cute!
Super spooky and so nice to see a different colour choice. So glad you joined us at the Crafters Café, CarolG
Love! How did you get that great face on the black cat? This is need-to-know info!!!
LOL, Cindie! There’s no secret to it. It’s a stamp in the Spooky Cat stamp set!
A great Halloween card, Debbie. Your stenciled brick work is fabulous. And I love how you decorated on the inside too. Thankyou for playing along with JAI #373 Challenge. D x
Wow, so much detail to this fantastic card! Thank you for sharing it with us at Just Add Ink!
I would never have guessed that this is an oversized card! All the little spooky elements are fantastic. Thanks for playing along with us at Just Add Ink.
I rarely make Halloween cards but love seeing them!! Yours is fantastic!! I’ve been doing larger cards lately as well. Seems you need the size to get all the good things on them!
Oh, that’s funny about the stencils! Apparently there are a lot of things I buy for no reason because I have quite a few I’ve never used or barely used. You did a great job on this fun Halloween card and your stenciled background is perfect!
Love your darling Halloweenie kitties, Debbie! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you have chosen these colors – just a bit different from the “norm” when it comes to Halloween, and entirely successful! Your collage is wonderful. Speaking of stencils, I apparently buy them for no reason as well. In fact FOUR arrived in the mail today, and one of them strongly resembles your brick stencil. LOL
So glad I got to see your masterpiece showcased at the Cardz 4 Galz Challenge. Thanks for joining in with your lovely artwork. Hope to see more of your pretty creations in the future. Please check back to see if you have won a badge.
Smiles,
Donna

Super cute!
Super cute card, Debbie. I, too, forget about my stencils. Maybe once I get my craft room organized I will start using some of the materials that I keep finding in the strangest places.
Fantastic card, Debbie! My oldest son considers Halloween his “holiday” and he would love this.
