Welcome to the Pals January 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “From the Heart” featuring heartfelt projects like Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and Sympathy. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along. With the holidays behind us, it’s time to make some new cards for the coming year. What better way to start than cards and gifts made “from the heart”! I have TWO projects for you and totally love the new stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog, Lovely Wishes, Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts, and Happy Wishes from Sale-A-Bration. These are “must-have” stamp sets!!
Lovely Wishes Card
It’s All in the Details
- This card was lots of fun to make! Using cardstock cut from a circle framelit from my stash, I centered it onto the Whisper White cardstock and stamped the floral and leaf stamp around it. After that, I brought out the wonderful Stampin’ Blendies and starting coloring.
- Once the coloring was completed, I daubered the sentiment stamp with Old Olive and Calypso Coral ink and stamped onto WW cardstock. Then, I cut it out with Layering Circle framelit and layered it onto Calypso Coral cardstock cut with the scallop Circle Framelit.
- The floral cardstock was layered onto Old Olive cardstock, then Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon was secured to the card.
- The sentiment was added to the card, popped up with dimensionals.
- Cutting another small piece of that ribbon and Silver Mini Sequin Trim, they were both tied to the long ribbon and their ends secured with glue dots.
- The “wishes” sentiment was inked with Old Olive and stamped, then cut with the banner from Petals & More Thinlits. (I will be using that one a lot!!)
- FINISHING TOUCH: Adding a trio of Metallic Enamel Shapes was just the right touch of bling, don’t you think?

Sure Do Love You Popcorn Box
It’s All in the Details
- This fun popcorn box card is pretty self-explanatory and lots of fun to make! Putting the popcorn box together was a snap. I stamped and cut out the sentiments, then cut out a few more hearts to complete the collage. Then, it was attached to a piece of window sheet that had been cut to the width of the popcorn box. The last little touch was adding the white Ready Shreddie. Give it a go!
