Welcome to the Pals’ February blog hop. We’re so glad you’re here because it’s “Time to Sale-A-Brate”! Our Design Team created projects using Sale-A-Bration items to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal. We are six weeks into Sale-A-Bration! Wow!! Are you needing some fresh ideas on how to use them? I absolutely love the free items this year! Stampin’ Up! really outdid themselves, as you might have heard that sales have been through the roof!
I have a confession – I placed an order for the new Sale-A-Bration items and they got stalled – right here in Grand Rapids, no less – till last Monday due to the endless snow we have been getting since the Polar Vortex! So, guess what, I had to come up with another project! No worries – I came up with two! And, THEN, when my order came on Monday, I just had to make another one to show you. So, stand tuned, hoppers – more will be coming… Now, onto the three projects! Please note that I have links to the majority of the products I used at the bottom of my post.
Card and Gift Bags Using Free Sale-A-Bration Products
The first little gift bag, big enough for a hand cream, was made CASEing this tutorial from Sam Hammond at Pootles.co.uk. Isn’t it cute? Well, what’s even better is that it was easy to make. One little secret I can share is that I used a small clothes pin to keep the gift bag closed while tying the ribbon. The small butterfly was punched right out of the DSP and the wooden elements are addicting to me. I am putting them on virtually everything lately!
Can you tell how much I love butterflies?! I don’t see many here in Michigan so it’s wonderful that I can see them on my cards! All of the great bundles in the Occasions Catalog make the Botanical Butterfly DSP in the Sale-A-Bration even more useful. The large butterfly was first colored with Stampin’ Blends, then colored once again with watercolor pencils.
This is my last project with the Sale-A-Bration items, which uses the new All Adorned Stamp Set with the new Painted Seasons DSP. I made this gift bag from this Splitcoaststampers tutorial, changing it only slightly to make the flap a little longer, so instead of scoring at 2″ and 7″, I scored at 2″ and 6 1/2″.
I hope you enjoyed my card today! If you did, please:
