Wildly Happy Baby Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Wildly Happy Baby Card by Secrets To Stamping

It’s time for a new theme at the Alphabet Challenge – “Z is for Zoology.” So, all I had to do was think about the animals my kids and I used to love at the zoo and I had my card started in a jiffy. Because my daughter loves panda bears, I chose that image in the Wildly Happy stamp set, but truly all of them are wonderful. And it is my daughter-in-law who taught me to embrace neutral colors for baby cards, but if you want to CASE this in a pretty pastel color, go right ahead!

Once you are finished here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project

  • Firstly, I started this card by seeing this Side Fold Card tutorial at Splitcoaststampers and thought how fun AND easy it was. However, you know me, I wanted to change it up to make it a 6″ square card. Here are the dimensions for my card:
    • Card Base: 6″ x 12″ and scored at 6″ and 7 1/2.”
    • Cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/2″ (2) and 1 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
    • DSP: 3 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ and 1 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • That’s all the hard work, crafters! I did end up wrapping some Smoky Slate baker’s twine before adhering the large panel to the card base.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Now that the card base is together, I stamped my image and got it all nice and pretty! Once finished, I just cropped it out with the Stitched Nested Labels dies.
  • Then, I cut out the letters from the Playful Alphabet dies and cut four 1″ squares from white cardstock.
  • Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and cropped it out with the small die and added the metallic pearls.
