Alternative Farmhouse Christmas Card for Cardz 4 Galz

Farmhouse Christmas Card by Secrets To Stamping

Cardz 4 Galz starts a new challenge today, which is “New Beginnings.” For this challenge, we would like to see cards relating to baby, engagement, marriage, job, home etc. There’s so many cards that I could make for this challenge, but a good friend of mine is buying a house. Therefore, I wanted to have a card all ready for her when the time comes. Firstly, I had to choose a stamp of a house – not many of those in my collection but I managed to find one on my holiday shelves. Since I love to use my holiday products all year round, I thought this would be a great time. Plus, Farmhouse Christmas also has coordinating dies, which makes it super fast and easy to use.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Cardz 4 Galz Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

Farmhouse Christmas Card by Secrets To Stamping

My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project

  • Firstly, this card is a little unusual in size – 5 1/2″ x 6″ because I just didn’t want to crop it down more than that. Feel free to CASE this into whatever size you like! So, the card base started with White Thick Cardstock, cut at 6″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2.” Although I did this at the end of making the card, I used the Basic Border die to make the card front.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Firstly, I pulled the papers from the Beauty of the Earth paper pack. After cutting out the hills with the dies from Farmhouse, I placed them onto the “sky” patterned paper. However, I wanted to get all of the pieces in place before picking where to cut it.
  • After stamping Farmhouse Christmas house, I colored it with Stampin’ Blends and cut it out along with two more pieces.
  • Then, I stamped, colored and cut out the tree. Since the tree didn’t come with leaves, I used the leaves from Inspired Canopy and cut them out with the same patterned paper as the grass.
  • I cut out the fence with the patterned paper from the World of Good DSP.
  • After laying all of the pieces down with adhesive, I layered it onto the wood patterned paper. Then, I adhered the entire panel to the card base.
  • After cutting the bottom edge with the border die, I stamped, cut the sentiment from Beautiful World and popped it up with dimensionals.
  • Finally, the Loose Flower Flourishes were glued around the sentiment.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:
