Hand-Penned Petals Card for Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge

Hand-Penned Petals Card by Secrets To Stamping

Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge is starting the May challenge today – let’s see what you do with your collection of dies! For my card, I used the brand new bundle called the Hand-Penned Petals, which just hit all of my “love” buttons. Those flowers are just gorgeous! Also, the scalloped edgelit added another fun detail and brought an interesting opening to the inside. If you can’t tell it in this photo, look below.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project

  • Firstly, the finished size of this card is 5 1/2″ square, and scored at 5 1/2.” Then, I black cardstock for the front and inside and layered the Hand-Penned designer. paper onto the front panel. Once that was done, I took the scalloped edgelit and cut below the front panel.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Firstly, I stamped the two flower stamps with black ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends (colors below).
  • After that, I cut them out with their coordinating dies, with two more to layer under the focal image below the sentiment.
  • Then, I stamped the Tasteful Touches sentiment onto white cardstock and cropped it out with the Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle.
  • After that, the other sentiment was stamped onto Pale Papaya cardstock and cropped out with the Ornate Frames die. Finally, a few jewel and black dots were added for some bling.

Inside

  • There’s a very pretty die in the Penned Flowers die collection so I decided to use them, by cutting one with white cardstock and layering it onto black cardstock. After I adhered the outline piece to the black one, I colored the pieces of the flower with the Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends marker and glued it into place.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:
