It’s the Beauty of Friendship for a Motivational Alphabet Challenge

Alphabet Challenge has a new theme starting today – “M is for Motivational/Encouraging Sentiment.” I love this theme because this card can go to anyone, making it an all occasion card essentially. Since we could all enjoy a sentimental card, it’s great to have in our stash, right? Ultimately I settled on using the Beauty of Friendship bundle, because it’s wonderful for this time of year.

• Firstly, this card is quite large at 5″ x 7″ so that I could use the large tree die and still get a good “view” of the tree background paper – I just love it!
• So, after cutting the card base at 10″ x 7,” I cut Merry Merlot cardstock at 5-7/8″ x 6-7/8.” Then, I layered Early Espresso cardstock on top. After that, Beauty of the Earth DSP was adhered.

Now, the FUN Part!

• Then, I cut the tree out of Early Espresso cardstock and layered the patterned DSP, cut with the fall leaves die, on top.
• At this point, I decided that the card needed some grass so I used the DSP and cut it with a grass die, cut to the same size as the DSP underneath it. Once that was in place I adhered the tree to the card base.
• Finally, I stamped and cut out the sentiment and popped it up with dimensionals. And, since I love a little “life” on my cards, I decided to stamp a few birds (Mountain Air stamp set) and cut out some birds from the Beautiful Trees dies.
• Although the card is a bit masculine, I just love how it turned out and can’t wait to sent it to my son and daugher-in-law.
