It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in my last challenge! For my fun fold card today, I made an adorable Christmas Side Spring card, using Sweet Little Stockings. I just love how this card turned out!

My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project

  • Firstly, I followed this Splitcoaststamper’s tutorial.
  • Cardstock measurements:
    • This cute card only needed one 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock.
      • Score cardstock at 2-3/4″ on the short side. Turn cardstock 90 degrees and score at 2-3/4″ and 4″ on the long side.
      • Fold cardstock in half on the long score line. With the shorter panel to your left, line up the top of the second vertical score line with a scoring tool, such as my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Line up the bottom of the first (left) score line with the same groove and score a diagonal score. Burnish your score lines and your card base is done!
      • DSP: 3 pieces of 4-3/8″ x 2-5/8″

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Firstly, I covered the swing square with Real Red cardstock, cut to 2-3/4″ square. Then, I cut white cardstock to 2-1/2″ and DSP to 2-1/4″. Once that was done, the panel was adhered to the card base.
  • I stamped and cut the stocking onto Real Red cardstock, then cropped it out with the coordinating die. Then, I ran it through the Wrapped In Texture mini embossing folder.
  • After that, I stamped the adorable puppy stamp onto smoky slate cardstock. Then, I touched up the puppy just a tad with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to give it just a little detail and cropped it out with the coordinating die.
  • Next, the little Santa hat was stamped, colored with Real Red alcohol marker and cropped out.
  • Then, the sentiment was stamped and cropped out with the Ornate Frame. After that, I punched Real Red cardstock with Classic Label Punch to layer behind it.
  • Finally, after I added designer paper, sentiment and a rectangle to the inside, I adhered the front of the swing square to the front of the card. However, I didn’t adhere the back of the swing rectangle to the back of the card to be able to open the card wider.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

  6. Cute fold. I’ve pinned it to remember to use it. I’ve entered a second card in the challenge which is a Vertical Window and tri-fold combined. My pictures don’t really show it well. Thanks for the push to try new folds.
