Welcome to the Pals Fun Folds Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the inspiration we have for you. You will find the lineup to the other great fun fold stampers at the bottom of my post. I love to make easy fun fold cards! They just add that little bit of detail that makes it stand out from the regular A2 card, don’t you agree? When I first started stamping, the center step card intimidated me so much. So, believe me, this one is worth giving it a try if you haven’t already. Even though I had no real plans for this card, using the sentiments from Special Moments, then a butterfly from Butterfly Brilliance and a sweet flower from Simply Succulents, I really love how this card came out.
My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project
- Firstly, here is the Splitcoaststampers tutorial I used to make this card.
- Card measurements:
- Shimmery White Cardstock: Cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
- Cut in 1” from each side of a piece of 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” cardstock between 1” and 5-1/4” on the long side.
- Score along outside sections on the short side at 1”, 2” and 5 1/4.” Fold and burnish the score lines to create the card base.
- Layering DSP:
- DSP #1:
- cut 3-1/2″ x 3-1/4″
- 3/4″ x 5-1/4″
- 3/4″ x 3″ (2)
- DSP #2: 3-1/4″ x 3″
- DSP #1:
- Once I cut all of the pieces, I sponged all of the pieces with Crumb Cake. After that, I layered all of the pieces onto the card base.
- Shimmery White Cardstock: Cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
Now, the FUN Part!
- Then, after the card base was adhered together, I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the Potted Succulent die and popped it up with dimensionals.
- Then, I colored one of the butterflies with Pale Papaya and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. (I had already stamped the butterflies so this made it so easy.)
- After I finished the butterfly, I made a little pop-up (1″ x 1/4″ piece) from a window sheet, folded it in half and adhered it to the butterfly before placing it on the card base. Now the butterfly looks like it about to fly off the card!
- Then, I stamped the second sentiment and cut it out with another die and popped it up on the card base.
- Finally, to give the card a third focal point, I stamped and colored one of the small flowers from Simply Succulent, cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals after cutting out the foliage to layer it onto.
Card Inside
- All that I did for the inside of the card was cut a piece of Shimmery White cardstock to 5″ by 4-1/4″ then scored it at 1.”
- Then, I folded and burnished the score line and adhered just the ends together.
- After that, I took a piece of DSP #2 and cut it to 3/4″ x 5″ and sponged the edges. Then, I adhered it to the gift card holder.
- Finally, I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the die from Potted Succulents and popped it up with dimensionals before adhering it all to the card base.

I agree with being intimidated initially by this fold. I appreciate your secrets to this fold and love what you did with it. It doesn’t hurt that it features butterflies, one of my favorites. I look forward to taking a deep breath and giving this fold a try soon.
