I joined in the Card Chain Challenge again this month and today is reveal day so I am sharing the card I made and sent to Arlene in California (A Bit of This and That blog) for today’s post. For the challenge, I decided to try my hand at the sketch and color challenges, which I really do find a challenge! Finally, I decided to go with the Friendly Hello stamp set that had three elements to place into the sketch positions and the rest fell into place easily after that.

My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project
- Firstly, this A6 card started with the retiring Cinnamon Cider cardstock. Then, I cut the Bloom Where You’re Planted designer paper and layered it onto Garden Green cardstock.
Now, the FUN Part!
- After preparing the card base, I started stamping and coloring the bird and flowers from the Friendly Hello stamp set with Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below). Then, they were fussy cut.
- Once all of those elements were complete, I stamped the large Hello with Cinnamon Cider ink with my Stampatus to get perfect placement. This stamp positioning tool is the best due to having the hinges to be able to move the plate instead of the paper – Love it!! Once that was done, I cut it out with the Stitched Rectangle die.
- After that, I punched a few leaves from the Bough Punch from Garden Green and Granny Apple Green cardstock.
- Then, all of the elements could be adhered to the card base.
- Finally, I added a few Brass Butterflies to the card for that little bit of life and bling!
I just have to show you all the sweet card I got from Linda (Scrappin’ Stampin’ Singin’) who I made friends with through card challenges. She is such a wonderful person and I really love her cards! You need to see her great work. I love how she used the shamrocks here for an all occasion card. Perfect for a March greeting, don’t you think?

- Creative Knockouts Challenge
- Paper Dragonfly Challenge – Birds
