Making an Iconic Kraft Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Iconic Kraft Card by Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

The Alphabet Challenge is starting a new alphabet letter today – “K is for Kraft.” Although I keep kraft cardstock on hand, I don’t often use it unless it comes up for a theme. After creating cards with it, I always say to myself that I need to use it more often! So today, to lighten it up a bit, I decided to pair it with the gorgeous Texture Chic designer paper and the Iconic dies, which I didn’t realize were retired till after the card was done.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My secrets to making this Quiet Meadow project

  • Firstly, this A6 card started with 12″ white cardstock, cut to 4-1/2″ x 12″ and scored at 6.”
  • After that, I cut the kraft cardstock at 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ and ran it through the Painted Texture embossing folder.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Then, I chose the patterned paper from Texture Chic and cut a small piece out with the Deckled Rectangle die. After that, I cut a layer of Petal Pink cardstock to layer it on and sponged both of them with Crumb Cake ink.
  • Once done, I started cutting the elements out, sponging the bird then adding a small amount of Petal pink ink with the Stampin’ Blends. Also, I cut and colored three branches as well as the three flowers. Then, I cut the large flower and sponged it with crumb cake ink and decided to do that to the little flowers as well.
  • Once finished, I layered them all on the card after tying a double stranded bow with linen thread around the layer.
  • Finally, I stamped and punched the sentiment from Charming Sentiments with the Double Oval punch and sponged the edges. Then, I decided to layer the sentiment onto two more punched oval for more dimension and added a few Opal Rounds to the flower centers.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:
