Welcome to the Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators’ Blog Hop!
Thank you for hopping with us today! We are all SU demonstrators who love making fun fold cards and you will also see the wonderful products that Stampin’ Up! is known for. As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you hop along. For my card today, I found a great fun fold called the Triangle Trifold so was intrigued to give it a go. I’m usually a little intimidated by this style but honestly it was fun and very easy. I wanted to make a card for my daughter who is doing an “away rotation” for the next month in Emergency Medicine. She’ll be working a crazy schedule so I thought this image and sentiment from In The Moment would be a great one for her.

My secrets to making this project
- Firstly, I followed this Splitcoaststampers tutorial and found it to be very easy to follow.
- Card base: I cut a piece of cardstock to 10-1/4″ x 8,” and on the short side, I cut the cardstock in half at 4.”
- After that, I scored both of pieces at 5-1/2″ on the long side. Then, on the side of the cardstock that measures 4-3/4,” I made a pencil mark at 4″ and scored diagonally to the outer corner.
- Once that was done, I attached the two pieces of cardstock, matching up and gluing the 5-1/2″ sides together with one triangle at the top left and the other triangle at the bottom right.
- Then, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and Tea Boutique designer paper to 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and cut both of these in half on the diagonal to make triangles. After that, I layered these pieces onto the card base.
- Finally, to finish the card base, I cut two more pieces of the Tea Boutique designer paper to 3-3/4″ x 4-1/4,” folded up the card base and adhered the patterned paper. Using a pencil I made a mark 1/8″ from the diagonal score line, then cut the patterned paper at an angle from the opposite corner to the pencil mark for both sides.
Now, the FUN Part!
- Once the card base was completed, I stamped the image from In The Moment in black ink and colored it with alcohol markers, (Stampin’ Blends listed below and one Copic marker (YG67) for the shirt since SU doesn’t have Garden Green). After that, I cropped out the image with the Stylish Shape square, then cut out two more layers of white cardstock to pop it up a bit. Then, I cut Garden Green cardstock with with Spellbinder Hemstitch Square die and layered it onto white cardstock cut to the same size.
- After that, I stamped the sentiment from Splendid Thoughts and cropped it out with the banner die from Stylish Shapes.
- Before gluing them down to the card front, I cut a long piece of white organza ribbon, tied it around the entire card into a bow. Then, I glued down the image first only onto the top triangle and placed the sentiment at an angle with glue as well.
Card Inside
- The inside of the card was easily made with white cardstock, cut to 5-1/16″ x 3-9/16″ and layered onto more designer paper, cut to 5-1/4″ x 3-3/4.”
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from In The Moment in Garden Green ink.
