It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! My Card Today
I created a Pop-Out Explosion card for you today, which I have made once before (see my first card HERE). However, this time I decided to change the dimensions to a true A2 size card. And, I couldn’t help but use the new suite of products called Fitting Florets, which is a preorder from the upcoming mini catalog. Also, it will be available to customers on November 1st and because it has some items that will not be in that catalog and are only available while supplies last, you will want to take advantage of this preorder. I have a complete list below!

My Secrets!
- Firstly, here is the original Splitcoaststampers Pop-Out Explosion tutorial for this fun fold. However, I have changed the card dimensions for my card.
- Firstly, I decided to try this fun fold again, this time changing the overall size of the card to be 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ – classic A2 card size!
- Card Measurements:
- Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2.”
- Card Front DSP: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
- Measurements for card inside:
- DSP for card base: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ (2)
- Pop-Out Explosion Measurements:
- 6″ x 6″ white cardstock, scored at 3″ in both directions, then scored diagonally once.
- DSP: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ squares (2) that are cut in half diagonally for the pop-out pieces.
- DSP: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ squares (2) for the two remaining areas. Note: you can opt to leave one without DSP for your personal message.
- Once all of your paper is cut, then you can glue them down before assembling the card.
- ASSEMBLY: Firstly, after gluing the pieces, I applied glue to the bottom square of the pop-out, lining up the corners with the edge of the card and placing the middle point against the card base. Once that end was glued down, I put glue on the top piece and closed the card to make sure it was exactly where it needed to be to close properly.
And now, the fun part!
- Once the card base was put together, I started stamping and coloring the floral images with Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below). Then, these images were cropped out with their coordinating Framed Florets dies.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment and cropped out with a square Stylish Shapes die.
- After that, to complete the card front, I cut and glued down the beautiful designer paper.
- BELLY BAND: Then, I cut out Balmy Blue and white cardstock with the oval dies. Then, I layered them all together to give the belly band some strength.
- The belly band strip was made with 1-1/2″ strip of Night of Navy cardstock, which I wrapped around the card and glued together so the ends would be in front, under the focal image. Then, I glued a small strip of DSP onto the belly band to give it a little interest.
- After that, I stamped the sentiment onto the Balmy Blue oval and stamped the floral image, stamping it twice and cutting/coloring the flowers out on the second one to pop it up over the first one. Then, I stamped the leaves and cut out the leaves dies to layer around the oval.
- Once I was satisfied, everything was glued into place.

Debbie, can you believe I have never done this fun fold? Thank you so much for doing it in true A2 form because I will now give it a go. The pic of Noah feeding the giraffe is so cute. My daughter loves giraffes!
Gorgeous card, Debbie. I love the fun fold and DSP. Great picture of Noah…the light of your life. Enjoy your day!
Debbie, this is a great card fold to show off several designs of the designer series paper and showcase the amazing stamp set and dies included in the Fitting Florets suite! Belly bands are so fun to make! And I love the picture of Noah feeding the giraffe! Looks like Mommy had to give a little encouragement which had to be very reassuring to a “first experience”. So many joys shown in just one picture! 💕
Great card, Debbie! I’ve added Mathmetician to your attributes- you always change up sizes on cards, and hence have to figure new score lines! Amazing! ( I generally make mistakes even when following directions, lol)
PS- have the fam come to the Santa Barbara Zoo! You can get up close with lots of the animals! And feed the giraffes!
Wow! What a great fold! I do not think I had seen one like this before. Very spectacular looking! Thanks for joining us at 613 Avenue Create!
You always know how to create the most interesting card folds, this one is no different and so beautifully created with the pretty papers, dies and stamps!
And oh how I miss taking my little ones to the zoo, they have grown up so fast!!! My oldest is turning 20 tomorrow!!! How is that even possible!!
Thank you so much for sharing this month at my Crafty Wednesday challenge!
