Framed Florets Birthday Card for HLS Die Challenge

Framed Florets Birthday Card by Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge starts the last challenge of the year and, as always, it’s Anything Goes with a Die. So, my card today is combining two bundles, which is something I just love to do, using the Hues of Happiness and Tea Boutique designer papers with the brand new Framed Florets bundle. It really was so easy to do!

Since I know you will find a little time to sneak in some crafting this month, remember that you have all the way to December 30th to enter it into our gallery! This month is just going to fly away from you so get it done soon!

NOTE: Although our challenge will be taking January and February off, we will be back to our regular schedule in March 2023.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along once it goes live at 3:00 PM Eastern Time!

My secrets to making this project

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with Gorgeous Grape cardstock, cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2.”
  • After that, I cut the Tea Boutique patterned paper to 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8.” Then, I ran it through the die cutting machine with the fun heart ovals and layered it onto white cardstock.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once the card base was complete, I cut out the oval die with white cardstock, then I colored the stitched piece with the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends marker. Secret: I used a 1/8″ Tear and Tape to adhere it to the card base since multipurpose glue can penetrate the little stitched cuts.
  • Then, I stamped the birthday sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink onto the oval piece and popped it up with dimensionals.
  • After that, I cut out the flowers from Hues of Happiness designer paper. The dies are a great time saver for the ones who have them so I really love using them!
  • Finally, I cut out the leaf branches in both white and Mossy Meadow cardstocks. Then, I added the Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots to finish the card.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:

My daughter Sarah made the best chocolate babka – her first! This was just before popping it into the oven, but I can’t find a photo of it coming out. It was delicious!
