My Card Today

Today’s project is a very easy fun fold called a Diagonal Fun Fold. Oh, if you haven’t tried this one yet, you really should – so much fun and shows off your designer papers! The Perfectly Penciled designer paper has been in my stash for too long and was asking me to finally use it! The floral design is so pretty and great in black and white but it’s also perfect for coloring with your Stampin’ Blends markers, as well. The simple all-occasion sentiment from Celebrating You made it all the easier.

Diagonal Fun Fold Card by Secrets To Stamping

My Secrets!

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with Pool Party cardstock, cut at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4.” Once that was done, I cut the left side from the left bottom corner to the top of the score line.
  • After that, Petal Pink cardstock at 4″ x 5-1/4″ and designer paper at 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8.” Then, I cut both pieces on the diagonal to fit the card front and glued them in place.
  • Then, I repeated the last step (but not the diagonal cutting) for the inside.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Once the card base was done, I cut more Pool Party cardstock to 3″ x 6″ and scored at 3.”
  • After that, more Petal Pink cardstock was cut to 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″, and Perfectly Penciled designer paper was cut to fit and colored with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below). Then, I colored the large flower, fussy cut it out, and popped it up with dimensionals.
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment and cropped it out with the Classic Label Punch, then layered it onto Pool Party which I also cut with the punch. Then, I added some gems to the flowers and a small baker’s twine bow.

  1. Your card is so beautiful with this great color scheme and love the card fold!
I always love when squirrels come up to my door and watch the cats go wild because they can’t get to it LOL. One winter we fed them dried corn on the cob and one of them almost got into the house. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to leave the corn right by the sliding door, but it was so cute to watch them up close!! After that incident we put the corn further away from the door though 🙂

Thanks so much for joining in at my Crafty Wednesday challenge!

  2. You certainly inspired me with this card and will try out the fold later this morning. Right after I fill the bird/squirrel feeders! 🤣

  3. Love this beautiful, fun fold card, Debbie. My husband fills the bird feeders and the squirrels eat what they put on the ground. We have red foxes and deer occasionally. We live in a development…not in a rural area. So much fun to watch. Enjoy your day!

  4. Your cards are always so elegant! This one has so many lovely little details like the gems on the flowers and the baker’s twine. It’s a brilliant idea to add the punched label in Pool Party under the sentiment label. I assume you cut the Pool Party one so you could have it show on both ends. Beautiful touch!

  5. Your card is fantastic! The DSP looks like it was made that way as your coloring is so perfect. I just made this fold yesterday for our hop Tuesday. Great minds think alike 😉

  6. Wow!!! Your card is just stunning!! The colored image looks so elegant against the black/white background.
