My Card Today has Irresistible Blooms!

Today’s project is an interactive Z Fold card; I have done a version of this type of Z Fold previously, which you can see here. Then, I saw this one with a pull tab by Connie Stewart recently, so I decided to try it. Since I just got the Irresistible Blooms Suite, the new Online Exclusive that will be coming out next month, I just had to play with it. I have to say that my favorite part of the suite of products is the designer paper since it coordinates with the flower dies.

Irresistible Blooms Online Exclusive – Available March 1st!!

My Secrets!

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with white cardstock, cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2,” and scored at 4-1/4.”
  • Then, I cut more white cardstock for the inside at 5″ x 6,” and scored the 6″ side at 2″ and 4.”
  • After that, I cut the Hello, Irresistible designer paper (using two different patterns); the card front is 5-1/4″ x 4″ and the inside was 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8.” Later, I used the designer paper scrap for the front of the Z fold layer since it was the perfect size, only having to trim the length to fit the panel.
  • Secret: You will like Connie’s tip to only add adhesive to the outside edges of the card front designer paper, since this allows you to use the piece of cardstock for the window!

Now, the FUN part!

  • Before I put the card base together, I cut out the window with the largest Stylish Shapes square and kept the white piece of cardstock for later.
  • After that, I adhered the Z fold piece to the card base, then added adhesive to the exposed window with the card closed to make sure I didn’t accidentally glue the card closed 😉 Then, I fit the square piece of cardstock into place; Easy, right?
  • Once that was done, I played around with the flowers for a little bit, but decided to go with the beautiful flowers and leaves on the designer paper instead of my stamped ones; I will probably use them in another project later. I really love it when dies coordinate with designer paper!
  • Then, for the sentiment, I stamped it with Gray Granite ink and cropped it out with the banner die, and cropped out the thin banner die with a scrap of the DSP.
  • Lastly, to assemble the card front, I cut another banner die with DSP and folded it in half. Then, I adhered it to the white cardstock and layered the flowers over it and tucked in the leaves under the flowers. After that, I popped up the two layered banners below the window and added a few Milky Dots for some bling.

Then, on the inside…

  • Finally, the inside just got a simple sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set and another cut DSP flower and leaf; fun and done!
