Sending Smiles Fun Fold Card for the SU Demos Fun Fold Hop

Welcome to the monthly Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

We have a great lineup of fun fold crafters so I hope you enjoy the inspiration this month. The Flying Seagull fun fold is such a great one for you to try since it is quite easy to make and shows off your designer paper stash (my favorite!). Furthermore, I adore combining old products with brand-new ones – so I used Sending Smiles and Love For You with Cheerful Daisies. If you like my project today, then I would love to hear why in a comment – and let me know if you make one!

Sending Smiles Flying Seagull Card by Debbie Mageed

My Secrets!

  • Firstly, I have seen quite a few tutorials on this fun fold lately, but Mary Deatherage’s video was really fun to watch and helpful too, so I recommend hers if you like following a video.
  • Card Base Measurements: Two pieces of cardstock that are cut at 4-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ and scored at 2-1/4,” 4,” and 6-1/4.”
  • Centerpiece Panel Measurements: Cardstock cut at 4-1/4″ square and DSP 4″ square
  • Panels Measurements:
    • DSP #1: 4″ x 2″ (2)
    • DSP #1: 4″ x 1-1/2″ (2)
    • DSP #2″ 4″ x 2″ (4 – 2 in front and 2 in back)
    • White cardstock: 4″ x 2″ for personal message on back
  • Once you have made all of your panels, all you have to do is adhere the focal point panel to the two end pieces in the center.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Once the card base was done, I cut out the “Sending” die from the Sending Smiles bundle with Boho Blue and white cardstock and adhered them together (SECRET: adhesive sheet adhesive or sponging liquid glue works best).
  • After that, I stamped the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment from Sending Smiles stamp set and cropped it out with the Classic Label Punch (only to realize later that the dies had a great die to do that).
  • Then, I cropped out a couple of the daisies from the brand-new Cheerful Daisies bundle, stamped the flower center with Boho Blue ink, and cropped it out. After curling the petals of the flower with a bone folder and popping the two flowers with a dimensional in between, then I adhered the die cut sentiment over it, using glue on the end over the flower and dimensionals on the other end.

Then, on the flip side…

  • Firstly, I decided to add designer paper to all of the panels, which could be used for even more embellishments.
  • After adding the panels, I cut out the “Love You” with the lovely new In Color Copper Clay cardstock (remember to either cut them with adhesive sheets or sponge the liquid glue on so you don’t make a mess).
