Inked & Tiled with Gorgeous Garden Dies for the Alphabet Challenge

Inked & Tiled Birthday Card by Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge is starting today and the theme is “G is for Green as a Dominant Color” with Yours Truly as the host. I wanted to use the Gorgeous Garden leaf background die so I went looking at my designer papers and found the ombre paper in the Bright & Beautiful DSP collection. After that, I started inking up stamps with the Inked & Tiled stamp set and just love how this card turned out. So, what will you use to inspire your green card? Let’s see what you can create with your green inks, papers and supplies before this challenge ends on July 13th.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

Inked & Tiled Birthday Card by Secrets To Stamping

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with white cardstock that was cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2.”
  • After that, I cut the Bright & Beautiful paper down to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Gorgeous Garden leaf die. Then, I sponged liquid glue across the paper to adhere to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I stamped the large leaf image in Lost Lagoon ink and the pretty flowers image in Smoky Slate ink. Then, it was cropped out with the Radiating Stitches die and popped up onto the card base.
  • After that, I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink and found a good die to crop it out with in the Timeless Arrangements die collection.
  • Since I had that bundle out, I decided to use the die with the leaves and cut it out with the same DSP as the background – one in the light color and another in the dark color for some contrast.
  • Then, I stamped two of the leaf sprigs from Timeless Arranges in Lost Lagoon, gave each leaf a little swoosh with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker and cut them out with coordinating die.
  • After adhering them all to the sentiment, there was just one little spot that needed a little “sumthin-sumthin” so I found a branchy piece from the Cheerful Daisies that was in my stash to fill it in.
  • The Finishing Touch was adding a few Festive Pearls for some bling.

Then, on the inside…

  • So, for the inside, all I did was cut some Lost Lagoon cardstock with the large Radiating Stitches die and cut a piece of white cardstock to adhere on top.
  • I stamped the pretty flower in Lost Lagoon ink at the bottom before adhering it to the card.
  • This card should be ready to go in a hurry, with just adding the perfect sentiment for the recipient before mailing.
