Hi, Stampers!
A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme “K is for Kitchen,” so I had to search through my stamp collection for something I thought could work. I’m relieved at times like this that I keep some of my favorite retired stash because I found Sweets & Treats to be a perfect choice for this one. Although I made it into a birthday card, it would also be cute as a holiday card, too. I had to do the pies because pies are big in my family! My daughter Sarah always wants a mixed berry pie for her birthday! And Adam and Farah not only had a wedding cake at their wedding but we also had a dozen pies to choose from. So, what desserts do you like for your special occasions?
Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!
My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, this A2 card started with Night of Navy cardstock, cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4.”
- After that, I cut the navy designer paper from Countryside Inn paper pack to 3-3/4″ x 5″ and the wood panel paper from All About Autumn (NEW!) to 2″ x 3-3/4″ and glued together. Then, they were glued to white cardstock (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and attached to the card base.
And now, the fun part!
- Once that was done, I stamped the images from Sweets & Treats onto white cardstock and colored them with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below). Once I was happy with that, I fussy cut them out.
- Then, I stamped the dessert platter, fussy cut it out and glued the desserts onto the panel (the bottom one was popped up with dimensionals).
- After that, I stamped the sentiment from Timeless Arrangements in Misty Moonlight ink and cropped it out with the banner die from the Sending die collection.
- Lastly, I added the Glitter Sequins to the card front for a little bling.
Then, on the inside…
- After the card front was done, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/4″.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.
- Once that was done, I stamped the cupcake and candy apples, then colored them with Stampin’ Blends.
- Finally, I decided some Wink of Stella was applied to the food on the card front and inside to add a bit of sparkle.

Love your choice of stamps Debbie, definitely sweet treats,a wonderful card
Looks very yummy. Sweet card. Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!
Sweet card! 😄Pies are a favorite in my family, too! I always make pies for my husband to take into work on his birthday every year. Most of the people just bring in donuts on their birthdays (it’s a tradition to bring in a treat on your birthday), but Greg takes 4 pies, and people at his job know me as the pie lady😂.
I fall into the same category on the collecting craft supplies, too!😆
Very “sweet” card, and I could see this as a holiday card with that Christmas Pudding. Thanks for playing along at the Paper Funday Challenge. We look forward to seeing more of your designs soon.
