My Trucking Along Card Today

Today’s project is a Corner Pop-Up card that I found on Lisa Curcio’s website. I have seen variations of this card before and decided I needed it a go for the first time. Firstly, I love a card where I can use my beautiful designer papers and I have really been enjoying the Masterfully Made pack since I got it. When I pulled it out and saw the mountains, I just had to break out my new Trucking Along bundle to go with it. Once I created this card, I realized that it’s really two fun folds in one card – how cool is that?? This is an A2 sized card and fits in a regular sized envelope, even with all of the layers I made, but will require additional postage (which doesn’t bother me one bit). The Trucking Along bundle has been so popular and at this time only the stamp set is available to order. The Trucking Along Punch should be orderable around October 15th, so if you want to get it, order quickly!

Trucking Along Fun Fold Card by Secrets To Stamping

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, here is the link to Lisa’s blog post for this fun fold. I followed them quite closely but will give you a tip or two along the way.
  • Card Base Cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11”, score at 4 1/4″, 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″
  • Card Front:
    • Book Binding Panel Cardstock: 1 1/8” x 4 1/8”
    • Book Binding Panel Designer Series Paper: 1” x 4”
    • Large Panel – Contrasting Cardstock: 4 1/8” x 4 1/8”
    • Large Panel – Designer Series Paper: 4” x 4”
  • Once that was done, I burnished my score lines and adhered the book-binding panel together. Then, I glued the panels to the card base.

Now, the FUN part!

  • After the card front was done, it was time to stamp! So, I stamped the Trucking Along truck outline stamp with Night of Navy ink and colored it with Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, and Black Stampin’ Blends markers. Then, I punched it out and popped it up onto the card base.
  • After that, I stamped the sentiment from Fun On Wheels stamp set and cropped it out with the Stylish Shapes banner.
  • Lastly, I saw that the punch cropped out a perfect sun when I punched out the truck, so I colored it with the Lolly Lemon Stampin’ Blends.

Then, on the inside…

  • I just love it when the inside of the card is as fun as the front, don’t you? As I mentioned, this is the second fun fold, which I didn’t truly appreciate before making it so pay attention and you won’t have any issues.
  • Card Inside Cardstock: I chose the Pool Party for the card base, and cut it to 8″ x 8″. After that, I scored it at 4″ in both directions to make 4 equal squares. Then, I cut off one of the squares and scored a diagonal line through the opposing square.
  • After that, I cut two 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ squares of Pretty Peacock cardstock and two 3/5/8″ x 3-5/8″ squares of designer paper. Then, I adhered one of each together for the left inside panel of the card. The other two were cut diagonally and glued together. Then, BEFORE you adhere these panels to your card base, look at the direction of the designer paper before you adhere it to the card base!
  • Then, I made a personal message panel with Pretty Peacock and white cardstock, cut to the same size as the left panel. Please note that I went ahead to glued this panel to my card, which will make it nearly impossible to write on! So, I would suggest leaving this off your card base till you have written your message and are ready to send it.
  • Once all of the score lines were burnished on the card base, I adhered all of the panels to it before I adhered it to the first card base.
  • Of course, you should know by now that I love sentiments so I stamped two more for the inside of this card. The one on the left panel is from Fun On Wheels and the one on the diagonal panels is from the new Trucking Along stamp set. Note that this one is only glued down on the left diagonal panel so the card will fold correctly.
