Carols of Christmas Z Fold Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme, “P is for Peace.” As I was getting my retired Bundle Sale organized, I found this great Carols of Christmas sentiment and knew that it would be perfect for this theme. Then, I paired it with the One Horse Open Sleigh designer paper (currently available) to give that vision of peace that we all are looking for right now. Because this designer paper is so pretty, I didn’t have the heart to cut into it much, so the card is a 6″ square. So, feel free to change the dimensions if you can cut this paper!

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this 6″ square Z Fold card started with 12″ white cardstock, cut at 6″ x 12″ and scored at 3″ and 6.”
  • After that, I cut 3 panels with cardstock cut at 5-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ and DSP cut at 5-5/8″ x 2-5/8.”
  • Then, I adhered the panels to both sides of the front fold and on the right side of the back panel, leaving the left side blank for a personal message.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, all I had to do was stamp the sentiment from Carols of Christmas in Misty Moonlight ink and cropped it out with the Stylish Shapes square die. Then, I layered it onto Boho Blue cardstock.
  • After that, I cut out Misty Moonlight cardstock with the next larger Stylish Shapes square die. Then, I glued it to the card front, with the top and bottom corners placed on the card fold. Once that was done, I popped the sentiment panel up with dimensionals.
  • Finally, I felt that the sweet dove from the retired Dove of Hope bundle would be a great touch to the challenge theme, so I inked up the dove with Misty Moonlight and cropped it out with the coordinating die and colored the branch with Stampin’ Blends.
