Framed & Festive Holiday Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Framed & Festive Holiday Card by Secrets To Stamps

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme, “Q is for Quadruple” and I am the host! So, I chose this theme before I remembered that things on cards should be in threes, not fours – what was I thinking? Finally, I decided to make some panels with designer paper, and I really like how this card turned out. Then, for the sentiment, I was looking for a sentiment that would fit nicely but not cover up the background too much and found the perfect one in the retired Framed & Festive stamp set.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with cardstock, cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4.
  • After that, I cut the panel of designer paper to 4-1/16 x 5-3/8 and adhered to the card base.
  • Then, I cut 4 strips of Joy of Christmas designer paper to 1-1/4 x 3-7/8 and rounded two of the corners with my retired Detailed Trio Punch. Once that was done, I popped them up with dimensionals.

And now, the fun part!

  • So, the fun part of this card was easily done by stamping the sentiment from Framed & Festive stamp set in Real Red ink. Then, I cropped it out with the Countryside Corners die and layered it onto Real Red cardstock.
  • After that, I stamped the two stamps from the Magical Meadow stamp set and cropped them out with their coordinating dies.
  • Finally, I made a bow with the beautiful Sheer Ribbon and Iridescent Pearls.

Then, on the inside…

  • Once that was done, I cut more designer paper to 4 x 5-1/4.
  • Then, I cut white cardstock with the largest Countryside Corners die.
  • After that, I stamped the Merry Christmas from the Regal Reindeer stamp set with Real Red ink.
  • Finally, I cut the holly and berries from the Sending Cheer dies and glued them to the card base.
