More Wishes with Grassy Grove for the MMM Challenge

Hi, Stampers!

A new Make My Monday challenge starts today with the theme, “Oh! Christmas Tree/Forest Trees” – the perfect theme for December. Today, my card used a new stamp set called More Wishes for the sentiment. Then, I paired it with the Grassy Grove bundle with the A Walk In The Forest designer paper for the background.

Before going any further, I need to tell you all that I had to make the difficult decision to step down from the MMM Design Team. I have been with the design team since January 2019! Recently, having a blog post ready by Monday morning when taking care of my grandson all weekend became difficult at times. Poor Caz had to put up with me on more than one occasion because I was running last – she’s such a great leader! So, thanks to Caz and the entire design team for four wonderful years!

Once you finish here, I hope you visit the Make My Monday Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I started this card with white cardstock, cut to 10 x 5-1/2 and scored at 5-1/2.
  • After that, I cut the designer paper to 5″ square, and dry embossed it with the retired Subtle embossing folder.
  • Then, I layered it onto Pretty Peacock cardstock to 5-1/8″ square and adhered them to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I stamped the “MERRY” with Balmy Blue ink on white cardstock, and stamped “Christmas” over the top with Pretty Peacock ink, using my Stamparatus to get it right the first time. Then, I cropped it out with Stylish Shapes die and cut Pretty Peacock cardstock with the same die. After that, I adhered them together as shown and popped them up with dimensionals onto the card base.
  • So, the card needed some life, so I got out one of my Grassy Grove bundle (definitely a favorite in my stash) and stamped three trees and cut them out. After that, they were glued (back one) and popped up with dimensionals (front two).
  • The deer were just too cute to not use! So, I cut them out of Pretty Peacock cardstock, popping up the adult one.
  • Finally, the last touch was cutting out the sweet leaf branch in white cardstock and coloring it lightly with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.

  1. MMM will miss your wonderful ideas, Debbie. And this card is a fond farewell card, I’m sure! So beautifully crafted and the recipient will cherish it for years! But any time spent with Noah beats craft room time, for sure.

  2. Goodness I thought for a minute 2019 was 2 years ago LOL, time surely flies!! What a beautiful card you created for your last project for MMM. Love the tree background paper and wonderful scene you create with the stamps. Always so hard to make the decision to step down but sometimes that’s the only way.
Thank you so much for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge this week.
