Stars At Night Twisted Easel Card for the Alphabet Challenge

Stars At Night Fun Fold Card by Debbie Mageed

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme, “S is for Stars” – what a great challenge for the holiday season! This was the first chance I had to use the Stars At Night bundle. The dies come with an embossing folder that gives great texture. So, I paired it with the Shining Brightly designer paper to make a variation of a twisted easel card.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, the card base was made with cardstock cut to 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 4-1/4 and 5-1/2.
  • Then, I scored diagnally from the left upper corner down to the first score line on the right to create the twist. Just make sure that you fold it correctly so that the fold goes up on the right.
  • After that, I glued the small area together.
  • Panels: DSP: 1 x 5-1/4 and DSP: 5-1/4 square and cut diagonally.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that was done, I embossed a piece of gold foil sheet with the Stars At Night embossing folder. Then, I cut them out with the coordinating die and layered them with dimensionals.
  • One of the dies cut out the background with gold foil sheet, then I cropped it out with the Starburst Punch. After that, I cut out another Starburst with Night of Navy cardstock and layered them together.
  • Then, I cut out the Vanilla patterned paper from the Shining Brightly pack with an oval die.
  • I closed the card and placed the oval panel in the middle of the card base, making sure to only add dimensionals on the bottom of the fun fold card base.
  • Since stars are all about shining brightly, I cut out several of the small stars in the die collection and added them to the small panel. Also, I added more to the inside of the card.
  • Finally, I added star trinkets to more sparkle.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:

  1. Oh my gosh! This card is jaw dropping! I am emailing all my card making friends the link to this beauty!!! I would CASE this card IMMEDIATELY if I had the supplies!!! (And you were a brave woman going to the mall, people are shopping psychos right now…)

  2. This is such a beautiful card, Debbie. Thank you for entering it in the PIP challenge. At first I thought Noah was at the airport 🙂 I imagine the mall is super busy. The stores closest to me are all outdoors and you have to drive from one section to another. I haven’t attempted that yet. Maybe next year!

  3. Wow! Your twisted easel card is spectacular! I love the navy blue/gold/cream color combination because it’s so elegant! And all those gorgeous stars make it extra special!

  4. Hello Debbie

  5. Debbie, I absolutely love this card. A friend gifted me this embossing folder and die, but I didn’t have a clue in how to use them. Your card is a total inspiration. Beautiful, thanks for your share.
