It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! With the new year just a few short weeks away, I wanted to show you some great projects with calendars. So, I made two calendar cards using Circle Sayings bundle. Whether your calendar card will be a gift or for yourself, I know you will enjoy making either of these cards.
Once you’re finished here, check out the current Creative Creases challenge; just click the button below!
My First Card Today
Today’s project is a great fun fold called a Building Block Card. I used this Splitcoaststampers tutorial to make THIS card a couple of years ago (wow, I started early that year!), so I thought it would be fun to do another one.

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- I scored the 5-1/2 x 10-1/2 cardstock at 3-1/2 and 7.
- Then, I closed the valley fold, and marked in pencil at these measurements:
- 3/8, 1-3/8, 1-5/8, 2-5/8, 2-7/8, 3-7/8, 4-1/8, and 5-1/8 cut to 1-1/2″ from the fold.
- After that, I scored at the end of the cuts to make the mountain folds, and the ¼” slits make valley folds.
- Front Panel: Cardstock: 5-1/4 x 3-1/4 and DSP: 5-1/8 x 3-1/8
- Inside and Back Panels: Cardstock: 5-1/4 x 1-3/4 and DSP 5-1/8 x 1-5/8
- Blocks: Cardstock: 1-3/8 x 7/8 and DSP: 1-1/4 x 3/4
Now, the FUN part!
- Once that was done, I added all of the panels to the card base.
- After that, I stamped the Circle Sayings sentiment in Lost Lagoon and Petal Pink inks. Then, I punched the sentiment out with the 2-1/4 Circle Punch and made a layer of Lost Lagoon behind it with the 2-3/8 Circle Punch.
- Since the front needed a little more decoration, I stamped the flowers from the Petal Park stamp set and punched them out with the coordinating Petal Park Punch. After that, I cut a few branches from the Bough Punch and layered all of these under the sentiment and popped it up with dimensionals. Then, I added the calendar to the bottom of the card front.
- I wanted to continue the floral decor so I stamped the flowers and stems from the Sending Smiles stamp set and cut them out with their coordinating dies.
- Once those were attached to the card, I cut out the 2024 with the Playful Alphabet dies (retired) and glued them to the blocks.
- Finally, I added the Glossy Dots to all of the flowers for a touch of sparkle.
Then, for my second card…

- Firstly, I used the Splitcoaststampers Calendar Easel Card to make this easy calendar card.
- I cut a cardstock base at 4-1/4 x 11, and score at 5-1/2.
- After that, I cut another piece of cardstock at 4-1/8 x 4″, and score at 1/2, 2, and 3 1/2 on the 4″ side.
- I stamped the Circle Sayings sentiment in Calypso Coral and Petal Pink inks, then, I punched the sentiment out with the 2-1/4 Circle Punch and made a layer cardstock behind it with the 2-3/8 Circle Punch.
- Once that was done, I added the branches from the Bough Punch and added a few Festive Pearls.
- Back of the Card: I sized the list of holidays to fit my card then printed it out (I have added it below if you want to use it).
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from Scenic Wonders stamp set and cut it out with a Deckled Rectangle and layered it onto Petal Pink and Calypso Coral cardstock.
- Finally, I added more Festive Pearls to the corners for some sparkle.
