Perennial Postage Fun Fold Card for the SU Demo Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! We have a great blog hop of fun fold crafters today so I know you will enjoy the inspiration this month. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along and see all of the great inspiration from other creative SU demonstrators. This fun fold is such a great one for you to try and makes your designer paper the center of attention – my favorite kind of card! So, I had to use the lovely Perennial Lavender along with the Perennial Postage bundle and love how this card turned out!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I was inspired by Connie Stewart’s card HERE. I changed the inside card from a side fold to a top fold, and I like a smaller border on the DSP panels, but everything else is basically the same as hers.
  • Card Base: 5-1/4 x 11, and scored at 1-3/4, 3-1/2, 5-1/4, and 7.
  • Card Base to attach at the back of the fun fold: 5-1/2 x 4-1/4
  • Inside Card Base: 4 x 10-1/2 and scored at 5-1/4 is an easy way to make this card base. However, I decided to eliminate the back panel so I cut my cardstock to 4 x 5-3/4 and scored at 1/2 from the edge. Then, I covered the seam on the inside of the card with a piece of designer paper, and cut to 4 x 1/2.
  • DSP Panels (covers fun fold card base):
    • 1-5/8 x 5-1/8 (2)
    • 1-3/8 x 2-5/8
    • 1-1/8 x 1-5/8 (4)
  • DSP Panel for inside card base: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
  • Sentiment Panel (front): White cardstock: 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 and Gorgeous Grape cardstock: 2-5/8 x 2-5/8

Now, the FUN part!

  • Once the card base was completed, I stamped the lavender and “big hugs” sentiment onto the white panel. Then, I adhered it to the Gorgeous Grape cardstock and popped it up with dimensionals.
  • After that, I stamped the “sending love and best wishes” sentiment with Gorgeous Grape ink and cut it out with the Perennial Postage die. Then, I layered it onto Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
  • I cut out the lavender branch and colored it with Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends marker. SECRET: I leave the branch in the paper I cut it out with while coloring. Once that was done, I cut it and layered them together before adhering them to the card. Then, I added a linen thread bow with a purple shimmer gem.
  • Finally, I decided that the card would look nicer with the additional butterfly accents. They are so easy to use on any of your projects by just blending a coordinating ink color to them – or they are even wonderful left white. And, don’t forget the purple shimmer gems wherever you can put them!

Then, on the inside…

  • After that, to complete the inside of the inside card base, I stamped the “You mean the world to me” sentiment with Pretty Peacock ink. Then, I cut the Gorgeous Grape Cardstock with the postage die and trimmed down the sentiment to adhere on top. Also, I added the sweet little butterflies in Gorgeous Grape ink for just a little whimsy.

We had Noah for the weekend! He started to feel ill and needed lots of TLC from “Oma” (that’s me!). But the fun of wearing my husband’s slippers has been passed down to the next generation. I wish I could post the video of how he kicked them up over his head! He sure knows how to entertain himself – and me!
