Hi, Stampers!
A new Paper Pumpkin kit arrived a little late in January, so I just got a chance to play with it. Oh my goodness, this kit coordinates with the Perennial Lavender Suite and it is truly gorgeous. I made three cards that are all very different from the Kit’s examples. This January 2024 kit has got to be one of my all-time favorites. Do you agree? If not, let me know what kit was your favorite!
My Secrets!
Card #1 – Easy-Peasiest card
- Firstly, this A2 card started with Gorgeous Grape cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
- After that, I took the lavender panel and removed the detachable tag and applied the panel to the card base.
- Then, I added dimensionals to the tab and placed it in the spot that I had removed it from.
- Once that was done, I adhered the pretty floral pieces to the tag and added a loose linen thread bow over them.
- After that, I took the lavender trim piece and popped it up with dimensionals on the ends.
- Then, I added the “love” pieces over that trim piece.
- Finally, I adhered three gold dragonflies to the card front for a touch of sparkle.
Card #2 – Easy (and not lavender)!
- So, for my next card, I turned the neutral card base inside out and used the Elegant Borders die to make the 3″ card front.
- Then, I took two of the leaves from the kit, turned one over to expose the white side and glued them together onto the card front.
- After that, I glued the “love” from the kit to the right side of the card front.
- Since I don’t love negative space, I took one of the butterfly accents and lightly brushed it with Lost Lagoon and Crumb Cake with a Blending Brush.
- Finally, I added a few Pool Party Glossy Dots to the front for some sparkle.
Easy fun fold for Card #3!
- So, for my final card, I made a double gatefold card, using this tutorial from Connie Stewart. It’s super easy and gives you lots of areas for crafting!
- Card Base #1: 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 2-3/4 on both ends
- Card Base #2: 5-3/8 x 8-1/2 and scored at 2-1/8 on both ends
- Card #1 DSP Panels: 2-1/2 x 4-1/8 (2)
- Card #2 DSP Panels: 5-1/4 x 2 (2)
Now, the fun part…
- After I put the panels onto their corresponding card base, I glued Card Base #2 to the inside of Card Base #1.
- Then, I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set and cut it out with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Once that was done, I layered it onto the Most Adorned DSP cut with the Nested Essentials die. I cut two leaves from the Add-On die (Love of Spring #164396) and adhered the panel to the left gatefold panel. After that, I cut Real Red cardstock with the other die from the Love of Spring collection. I glued the “love” to it, then popped it up onto the card base so that it will hold the panel on the left side down. Then, I added the leaves from the kit to add a little balance to the card front.
- For the inside of this fun fold card, I added a Real Red circle from the Stylish Shapes die and a circle (2-1/2″ Circle Punch) stamped with the sentiment from the Heartful Hexagon stamp set and adhered them together. Then, it was glued down to the upper panel of Card #2.
- Then, with Card #2 completely open, I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set and cropped it out with the Hexagon Punch.
- Finally, to pretty the card up a bit, I stamped hearts inside and added some cork rounds to each of the card fronts.
