Bee My Valentine Card for the SU Demo Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! We have a great blog hop of fun fold crafters today, so I know you will enjoy the inspiration this month. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along and see the beautiful projects from other creative SU demonstrators.  This fun fold is a great one to try because it is super easy and quick. For my card today, I used the Bee My Valentine bundle after purchasing it once I saw all of the great inspiration all over the internet.

Create this card using the Bee My Valentine bundle by Stampin' Up! Debbie Mageed Secrets To Stamping

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I made a similar card with this fun fold and you can see it HERE. I couldn’t wait to make another one and thought the Bee My Valentine bundle would be a fun one to use.
  • Card Base: 7-1/4 x 5-1/2 and scored at 3 on the 7-1/4 side.
  • DSP Layers: 5-1/4 x 2-7/8 (front) and 5-1/4 x 1-1/2 (inside)
  • Flap: 2 x 3-1/4 and scored at 1/2. DSP: 1-3/4 x 2-3/4
  • I glued the flap to the inside of the card, then glued the inside DSP panel over that.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Oh, the fun I had making this card!! I started by stamping the adorable bee with black ink, colored the body with Daffodil Delight, and cropped it out with two wings. Then, I colored the wings were colored with a very light coating with the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends (it doesn’t show up well in the photos).
  • After that, I stamped two of the honeycomb images in black ink and colored them with Daffodil Delight. Then, I cut out black cardstock with the circle die in Stylish Shapes and white cardstock with the Decorative Circle Punch. These were all layered together with the bee popped up with black dimensionals.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the “love you” sentiment, cropped it out with the Bee Builder Punch (see the versatility?), and colored it with more Pool Party. Then, I punched a few of the wings and colored them with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to make the small cluster of hearts that are secretly there to hold down the flap.
  • Finally, I couldn’t resist using the retired Bumblebee Trinkets to add the right amount of bling.
