It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge. Firstly, thanks to all those who participated in the last challenge! If you haven’t played in the challenge yet, I hope I can inspire you to join the challenge that’s starting today! So, I made two cards for you today and you will like how easy they both are. I used the new Online Exclusive Simply Zinnia bundle, which is so beautiful that Stampin’ Up! is working feverishly to restock! They should have it back in stock soon so get it before it’s gone again!!

My First Simply Zinnia Card

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I used the measurements from this previous card I made HERE but changed the dimensions for the DSP slightly and added two more panels to the inside of the card (why not??).
  • Card measurements:
    • Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and 11″ x 4-1/4″ then scored at 2,” 3-3/4,” 7-1/4,” 9”
    • DSP: 3/4” x 4″ (2)
    • Inside of the card DSP: 3-1/4” x 4”
    • DSP: 1-3/4” x 4” (4)
  • Firstly, I added the slim side panels of DSP to the back piece of the card base.
  • Then, on the 11″ card base, I scored and burnished the score lines and added the DSP.
  • Finally, I added the panel to the inside panel of the card.

Now, the FUN part!

  • Card Front: Once that was done, I cut out the beautiful zinnia flowers – one of each of the flower dies. After that, I colored the middle flower layer very lightly so that the white was still visible. Then, I glued the top two layers together and popped it up onto the flower outline layer. I added the flower center, cut from Petal Pink cardstock.
  • Once that was done, I also cut out the leaf dies and colored them before gluing them together.
  • Then, I cut out the large circle from the Everyday Details Dies – one in white and a second in Petal Pink. I situated the Petal Pink one so that the holes didn’t line up. After that, I stamped the sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set in Petal Pink ink and glued the flower onto the circle before popping up the panel with dimensionals on the left half of the circle so that it is center of the card front.
  • After that, I decided to make another Simply Zinnia flower and added the stem and a leaf after coloring them with Stampin’ Blends.
  • Finally, I added the Dots and Pearls to the card front.
  • Then, for the inside, I left it without a sentiment but added a rectangle die to complete later.

Then, on to Simply Zinnia Card #2…

  • I made this second card after watching Patty Bennett’s Facebook Live. This is a quick and easy card to make that really showcases the gorgeous Flowering Zinnias designer paper.
  • Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 and score at 4-1/4.
  • DSP #1: 5-1/4 x 4 then I scored it from the 5/8″ from the left upper corner to the right edge at 1-3/8″. These measurements are completely arbitrary, you can choose your measurements if you want to change them.
  • DSP #2: (4 x 2) I glued this panel to the top of the card base and layered DSP #1 over it, lining it up with the smaller panel.
  • After that, I stamped the sentiment with Blackberry Bliss ink and cropped it out with the circle die from Everyday Details. Then, I punched Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and glued it down onto the card base.
  • Once that was done, I fussy cut one of the Zinnias from the beautiful DSP as well as the leaves. I placed a dimensional on the leaves to give a little space between the flower and leaves, and added more dimensionals to the flower before adding it to the card base.
  • Finally, I added a few Purple Fine Shimmer gems for some sparkle.
