Garden Meadow Fun Fold Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

This month, the theme is See How My Garden Grows. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. So, for my garden card today, I wanted to showcase the beautiful Garden Meadow bundle with the coordinating Meandering Meadows design paper (this paper is so pretty that I now have two packs!). As I have said before, this paper is too pretty to chop up, so I went with one of my favorite folds that showcases the whole piece!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, my card base is 5 ½” x 11” cardstock, then on your scoring board, score it at 1-1/4”, 3-3/8”, 7-5/8”, and 9-3/4”.
  • 4” x 5-1/4” designer series paper/cardstock for the center of the card. I also cut some vellum to the same size to soften the focal panel, which is optional.
  • After that, for the front panels, I did my best to make the panels continue across the front of the card.
    • 1” x 5-1/4” designer series paper (2) for inside panels.
    • 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” designer series paper (2) for outside panels

And now, the fun part!

  • OK, the card was so much fun to create – I almost just thought a sentiment would be enough! But, if you know me, more details are always more fun than the CAS ones. So, I stamped the cute wheelbarrow, flowers, and garden tools with black ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends, choosing colors from designer paper. Then, I stamped a couple of the birds from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set to add a little more life to the card.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the “happy birthday” from the Garden Meadow stamp set and cropped it out with the Happy Little Things die.

Then, on the back…

  • When you have fun making a card, you don’t want the fun to end! So, I turned the card over and did the same panels on the back. Then, I added a white panel cut from the Garden Meadow die and stamped the sentiment from Encircled in Nature in Garden Green ink.
  • Finally, I added the Dragonflies & Butterflies to add a little life to the scenery.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Fun Family Occasions.

Until then, have fun in your craft space!
